You Are My Sunshine!!!

Posted on

You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine! Are you singing it too or is that just me? This greeting is perfect for this beautiful butterfly card! It is so bright and cheerful!

You Are My Sunshine, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Blue and yellow go so well together, don’t you think?? I love these colors – Pacific Point and Pineapple Punch!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Pacific  Point (4″ x 5-1/4″) and embossed the butterfly from the Springtime Impressions Framelits. This is a framelit that I used to emboss with the Embossing Mat. Check out this post and this post on how to emboss with framelits. Also, I die cut a full butterfly in Pineapple Punch. Don’t layer this onto your card front just yet because we need to do that greeting and wrap the ribbon around to the back.

Layered Punches, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the greeting, I used a few different punches. First, I punched out a white label with the Pretty Label Punch. Next, I punched out a 1-1/2″ Circle Punch in Pacific Point. Then I stamped the greeting from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set in Pineapple Punch and punched it out with the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. For the layering, I added them all together with regular Snail Adhesive. For those little ribbon slider holes, I used the Detailed Trio Punch. In order to line it up in the correct spot, I punched out a scrap one, placed it in the desired spot and pressed with my scissors to make a mark. Then I slid it into the Detailed Trio Punch and punched the hole. I did that on both sides and slid the ribbon through securing it on the back with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added this to the bottom of the embossed Pacific Point piece. Wrap the ends of the ribbon to the back and add this piece to the card front!

Impressed Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now it is time to finish off with that die cut butterfly. I suggest putting this on last so that you don’t put it too low and in the way of your greeting. Using Mini Glue Dots, I adhered it and then added a few Rhinestones down the center for some bling! I love it! This is a great card to have on hand to brighten someone’s day.

Embossing With Framelits!!!

Posted on

Yesterday, I shared some embossing with framelits as well as a card using the label from the Stitched Seasons Framelits. Check that out here! Today, I’m sharing another card embossed with framelits and I’m using the outline/negative of the label I die cut.Embossing with Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Coastal Cabana measuring 4″ x  5-1/4″ and embossed the floral image from the Stitched Seasons Framelits. I added it to the top and bottom for a nice border around the greeting!

Framelit Embossing Tutorial, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here are the layers for embossing with a framelit: Big Shot Platform (no tabs), White Impressions Pad, Blue Silicone Mat, Cardstock, Die with the blade facing the cardstock, and then a clear Big Shot Cutting Pad. Simple and yet such a fabulous look!

I added this to the card front and tied some Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon along the spine of the card. For the greeting, I used the outline/negative image from the label I cut out for this card. Simply place the outline in the middle where you would like it to be, stamp the greeting in the center and then adhere the outline with Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you add the outline with the dimensionals first, the stamped image won’t be as easy to place without making a mess. The greeting I used is from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set and I used Coastal Cabana Ink. I finished off the card with some Rhinestones for bling! I’m really loving Rhinestones in all of my cards lately.

Do you find that you really love a product and grab for every time you are crafting but yet it changes all the time too? I use to using embossing folders on every card and then I just quit. Now I’m back to it and loving it. I use to use Pearls and Rhinestones on every card and then I started using other embellishments….now I’m back to using them! I find that super interesting. Let me know yours in the comments below!!!

Also, if you would like to see a video tutorial on this, check that out here! If you would like to purchase any supplies used, click the links below! The Stitched Seasons Framelits are only available this month while supplies last so don’t delay!

Technique Tuesday – Creating 2 Cards with 1 Die!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know that means I have a fabulous technique to share!!! Creating 2 Cards with 1 Die is the technique!!!! Today, I’m sharing one of the cards but be sure to come back tomorrow to see the other one!!! I love this because we all know time is precious so getting 2 pieces with one crank through the Big Shot is fabulous!!!

Creating 2 Cards with 1 Die, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super simple to create but has that amazing WOW factor with the embossed floral image. I used the Springtime Impressions Dies for that image. Yes, I used a framelit to emboss! How cool is that???? With the Big Shot Embossing Mats, you can now get more use out of your framelits because now you can emboss with them as well. WOWZA!!!! Then, there is also the creating 2 cards with 1 die part for this card. I love it!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Highland Heather measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then, I took a piece of Gorgeous Grape and ran it through the Big Shot with the Embossing Mat and the Springtime Impressions Die.

Embossing with Dies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here are the layers for embossing with a framelit: Big Shot Platform (no tabs), White Impressions Pad, Blue Silicone Mat, Cardstock, Die with the blade facing the cardstock, and then a clear Big Shot Cutting Pad. I have found that using a newer pad works best because it doesn’t have the cutting groves in it and it isn’t curled. It’s always good to have a nice flat one available for embossing!!!

Now I have that fabulous focal point to adhere to the front of my card! Next, I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Stitched Seasons Framelits. I used the label for this card and saved the negative (outside piece) for the card I’m showing off tomorrow! Two fabulous card pieces with just 1 crank through the Big Shot and 1 die. The Stitched Seasons Framelits are super fabulous for that reason! Remember you can only get them this month! Click the photo below to order yours today!

Kindness Changes Everything, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using the greeting from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set (coordinates and Bundle & Save 10% with the Springtime Impressions Framelits), I stamped it in Gorgeous Grape! I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished off the card with Rhinestones. Simple and yet fabulous with that beautiful floral embossing. I love it!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope you had an amazing weekend!!! Mine was full and fabulous! I attended Vacation Stamping School 2018 Friday evening and Saturday morning. This is a gathering of demonstrators in our group for all kinds of stamping fun. There were around 100 in attendance and so much excitement!!!

Vacation Stamping School 2018, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There were so many amazing samples, demonstrations, and ideas all over the room. The talent some of these ladies have is just incredible. It still boggles my mind that simple stamps, ink, and paper can be so much more!!! There is still so much to learn and I love it! I can’t wait to share all these ideas with all of you too!

Of course my favorite part of the whole event was the people. Seeing Shannon West was like Ahhhhhhhh! She is so fabulous! I remember meeting her and getting a photo with her back in January 2011 at Leadership in Nashville…..AND SHE REMEMBERED TOO!!! How amazing is that?!?!?!

Me & Shannon, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Throw Back….Monday! 🙂 Here we are in January 2011 and the center photo in the above collage is from this past weekend!! Shannon, you are amazing and inspire me and I feel like you are my Stampin’ Up celebrity! 🙂 Not that all of the other ladies at the event weren’t as well though! These ladies were from many different states, all gathering together and sharing stamping tips and chatting. We are one big family. A big shout out to Glenda Travelstead too for getting Claire to sleep on Friday night! Claire enjoyed your snuggles!

Now I’m off to the stamp room during nap time to play with my new product I won for Prize Patrol and to go through all the samples and ideas to start playing! Eeeeee!

I hope you all have a wonderful day! PS: If you would like to join this amazing family of fun and inspiration, join my team by clicking here!!! You won’t regret it!

How To Adhere Delightfully Detailed Designer Paper!!!

Posted on

Today, I’m sharing something that I have been asked about a lot so I finally did a video tutorial on it!!! Check out how to adhere Delightfully Detailed Designer Paper to your project!!!

How To Adhere Delightfully Detailed Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

All you need is a sponge, silicone mat, and Multi-Purpose Glue to adhere it to your project. Since the Delightfully Detailed Designer Paper is so delicate and small, most other glues are hard to use and you end up with a sticky mess. Simply add a dot of the glue to the silicone mat and dab it with the sponge. Then lightly dab all over your designer paper and stick it on your project. Press over the top for a few seconds to allow the glue to adhere to the cardstock and you are all set! No mess with glue all over or accidentally using to much! Check out the Video Tutorial below to see this in action and how little glue you really need!

If you prefer, the Fine Tip Glue Pen would work as well but the chance of using too much is higher with that glue I think.

Poppy Parade Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a quick and simple card I created using this technique and that perfect little detailed design along the side.

I started with a Poppy Parade card base. Next, I added the little strip of Delightfully Detailed Designer Paper along the left hand side. I was able to get 2 of these cards with each of the border pieces so that’s awesome! Then, I stamped the flowers and greeting from the Love What You Do Stamp Set in Black Ink. I added the pop of color with the flower dots in Poppy Parade Ink. For more contrast, I layered this piece onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and popped it onto my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished off the card with a few Rhinestones for some bling!! This card could be created in any color you wish. I love card concepts like that!

Check out the Video Tutorial below or click here to see this all in action and how little glue you really need! I hope you found this super useful. Copper Leaves!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday!!! This has been one heck of a busy week and it’s only Wednesday! Seeing all the back to school photos is making my head spin….how is it that time of year already?!?!

Copper Leaves, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I really struggled with this card and all of the different options. Did I like the Copper Foil with the rustic Copper Trim? Did I want to color in the leaves or leave them alone? Was the greeting piece to plain or too much?

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Cajun Craze measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped the leaves from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set in Cajun Craze Ink. Using the NEW Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2, I colored in a few leaves with the Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler Pencils.

Texture & Shine, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I die cut out a label with the coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits. (Save back the outline/negative to use for another project like this one.) On the back of the label, I placed some pieces of the Copper Trim on the edge and secured them in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added this piece to the card front.

For the center greeting, I took a scrap strip of Very Vanilla and slide in the back of the Pretty Label Punch to get those rounded edges. Next, I stamped the greeting from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set in Cajun Craze Ink. Now that I know how long my greeting piece needs to be, I slide the other end into the punch and rounded those corners as well. This is just another fun way to use your punches on different sized greetings. I die cut out the Copper Foil leaves with the Stitched Seasons Framelits and added those around the center greeting!

Don’t forget that the Blended Seasons Stamp Set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits are only available this month (August) and while supplies last so don’t wait long. You can check out more samples using it here and here! Click the photos below to shop for the items used in this card!

Trees & Leaves for Any Occasion!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Today, I wanted to share with you this simple card that can be used for so many different occasions with just a switch of the greeting!!! These trees & leaves for any occasion make the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set so versatile.

Trees & Leaves for Any Occasion, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card was not my original idea. I got this from the talented, Cindy Murphy and just fell in love and had to recreate it. Thank you so much for the amazing idea!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Tranquil Tide measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped the leaves from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set. The large leaf was stamped in Mint Macaron and the 3 leaf set was stamped in Tranquil Tide. The other leaf was stamped in Soft Suede and I did it a few times to get various shades of that leaf and not have all of them so dark. After adding this to the card front, I ran a little strip of Snail Adhesive down the center and stuck the Burlap Ribbon over top. Don’t worry if it’s not super stuck on there because the focal point will also hold it on.

Textured Leaves, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the focal point, I die cut out a Soft Suede circle using the Layering Circles Framelits and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I made sure they went over the ribbon to hold it in place as well. Next, I stamped the tree stump from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Crumb Cake ink onto scrap white and fussy cut it out. It was really easy to cut out since it’s fairly round but not perfectly so no worries if you are a bit off. I stamped the greeting in Tranquil Tide Ink.

Before adding this piece to the card front, I die cut and embossed the leaves using the coordinating Nature’s Root Framelits. These are super cool because you can get so much out of this set. First, I die cut the leaves with the outline image in Tranquil Tide and Crumb Cake. Then I laid the coordinating embossing piece over the leaf and ran it back through the Big Shot to emboss it. To make sure it doesn’t move on you, simply place a Post It Note over the top or a piece of Washi Tape. Simple and fabulous for adding texture to your project. I added those to the lower left of the circle and then placed the greeting on top!

What would you use this card for – birthday, thinking of you, thank you??? It does make a fabulous man card which I really struggle with so I might make up some more for birthday cards!! Let me know what you think in the comments below!!!
