Twisted Gate Fold!

Posted on

This Twisted Gate Fold Card is super cool, small, and not something I would make multiples of. LOL I love making crazy weird cards here and there but it’s not my thing to do them all the time. This is one of those!

Twisted Gate Fold Card, www. LaurasStampPad.com

I got the inspiration for this card from Julie Davison and the original sample I made came together really well. This is probably because I was following directions. Then I cut a bunch for a class and messed up the measurements. Blame it on mom brain?!?! Here’s hoping. So I’ll share the measurements here so you can follow along and be successful with this fun fold cute card!

Card Measurements:

~ Card Base: Soft Seafoam – 7-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, score at 2-1/2″ and 5″
* Inside: Basic White – 2-1/4″ x 4″
~ Designer Series Paper: 2 Pieces – 2-1/4″ x 3-7/8″
For the front diagonal (leaf pattern), you will cut from lower right to upper left. For the back diagonal, you will cut from upper right to lower left.
* Decoration: Strip of Pansy Petal Designer Series Paper (yellow) – 1″ x 2-1/2″ and a 2″ Basic White Circle, and then a fussy cut pansy from the same paper.

Be sure when you are adding your decoration pieces on that you only put adhesive on one side so you aren’t sealing your card closed!

Fun Fold Pansy Petal Birthday Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I hope you try out this card and have fun with it even if you only make 1! If you prefer to watch me create this Twisted Gate Fold card rather than reading about it, check out this video tutorial!

Anniversary April!!!

Let’s just go ahead and call this month – Anniversary April!!! My Stampin’ Up! Anniversary is the month as well as our Wedding Anniversary! Pop the champagne and let’s celebrate!!!

Anniversary April Fun Fold Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I created this fun fold card for a recent class and thought it was perfect for Brad for our anniversary! Thank you to Connie Stewart for the inspiration! There is something about the elegant paper and jade color that just felt so right!

How To Cut & Use All of the Paper:

I started with a 1/4 sheet of Just Jade cardstock (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) as the card base. Next, I took a piece of Basic White (8″ x 5-1/4″) and folded it in half. This is the actual card. For the card front, I added a piece of Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper. BONUS: You can create 6 of these cards with 1 sheet of 12″ x 12″ with no waste! Cut at 4″ creating 3 strips of 4″ x 12″. Then cut at 5-1/4″ creating two 5-1/4″ x 4″ pieces from each strip (6 total). This leaves 3 small pieces measuring 4″ x 1-1/2″ which I cut into 4″ x 3/4″ and used on the inside of the card!

Simple Fun Fold Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now add the designer series paper to the card front covering it completely. Before adding this to the Just Jade base, I added a little flap for the greeting.

You can make this piece as big or small as you wish! I simply took my greeting of choice and measured it with a little extra on all sides. This was 1″ x 2-1/2″ which I stamped in Just Jade Ink onto Basic White. For the tab, simply add 1/4″ up and down and an 1″ side to side. So the Basic White is 1″ x 2-1/2″ and the Just Jade is 1-1/4″ x 3-1/2″. Score the Just Jade at 3/4″ to create a little tab. Adhere that tab to the Just Jade card base flush with the edge on the right side. I placed mine about 3/4 of the way down from the card top. Next, I added the Basic White card to the front. Stamped the greeting and added it to the tab with a little ribbon knot for decoration! Simple and fabulous!

Happy Easter Fun Fold Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another one I made but went with Happy Easter and a different pattern of paper from the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper Pack! See this all in action by clicking here!

Now I am all set for Anniversary April! Let’s celebrate! Remember that many of these items are retiring so you want to check out the Last Chance List and get them before they are gone!

March 2022 Paper Pumpkin!

The March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit was AMAZING!!! It was called Beyond the Horizon and I loved the color cominbation, the layers and the perfect greetings!!!

March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am normally not a layers girl but this one is my favorite. Maybe it is because all of the pieces are die cut for me already, lol! That is one of the fabulous perks of a kit! This card is just what I need in my collection for #happymail.

Assembly Tips:

Just a few tips when you go to put this March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit together. I am not a huge fan of the Mini Glue Dots that come in the kit and prefer to use a tape runner style of glue. They just seem to tedious! What I did for all the layers on these cards was add a strip of adhesive in the spots that I knew would be covered up. Then I pressed the die cut images over the top and then added the banner greetings over the top of that. This secures the die cut without having to add a million little glue dots all over. It also gives the die cut image a little flappy 3D look.

Beyond the Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is my second favorite. For some reason, I feel like that yellow die cut looks like a dream catcher. Anyone else getting that vibe?!?

Monthly Craft Kit Right to Your Door, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This greeting is my favorite! It feels so powerful and heartwarming and I love it! Who wouldn’t love to get a card like this in the mail?!?!

If you love craft kits or know someone who would love to make some cards, Paper Pumpkin is the answer! These all inclusive kits come right to your door and all you need is scissors! Perfect for kids and adults! Sign up for the April Kit before the 10th and join in the fun! Click here!

Heartfelt!!!

Posted on

You all know how much I love to do the heart hands on my videos! I am not really sure when or how that started but I love doing it. Somehow Claire has picked up on it and wants to do heart hands with me now and that just warms my heart. So sweet! When I saw that image in the Here Together Stamp Set, I had to have it just for that image and this heartfelt card!

Heartfelt Here Together Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Blushing Bride card base. Next I layered on a piece of the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper. I love how the back side of this paper isn’t Valentine’s Day specific and can be used all year long for amazing cards like this one! Then I added a strip of Blushing Bride and Basic White. On the white, I stamped the greeting Heartfelt in Real Red Ink. This image is from the Lovely You Stamp Set. It’s so simple and fabulous and makes this card perfect for so many different occasions!

Here Together Stampin' Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I stamped the heart hands in Memento Black Ink onto scrap Basic White and punched it out with the smooth heart punch. Then I layered it onto a Real Red scallop heart punched piece. This I added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished off the card with some Polished Dots. There are pale pink and clear ones and honestly either one would work for this card!

On the inside of the card, I added a piece of Basic White and a leftover strip of the Sweet Talk Designer Paper along the left side. I can’t wait to send this card out for some fun #Happymail. Would you use the Heartfelt greeting or a different one for this card? Let me know in the comments below!

Here For You!!!

Posted on

I love the message on this card and it really comes in handy now and again! I recently made this card for a friend who was having surgery and I hope it warmed her heart. Here for you, I promise! It would make a great card for teenagers or those going off to college too!

Here For You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the color combination with this card. The red is bold but the blue softens it for a warm and heartfelt feeling! Try out Real Red and Balmy Blue and see for yourself!!!

I started with a Balmy Blue card base measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and stamped the “I Promise” and the heart outline all over the card front. Be sure to angle the images in different ways. Typically I start with the larger image and then fill in with the smaller one! I used Balmy Blue Ink for just that subtle background look!

Stampin Up Together Forever Bundle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I took a 3″ x 3″ piece of You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and layered it onto Real Red (3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″). Then I tied some Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon around it and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting, I used the Here For You Dies and adhesive sheets. Simply add the adhesive sheet to the back of the Real Red cardstock and then run it through the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine (which is on sale for 20% this month)! Now you have a homemade sticker and a quick and easy greeting! I also snuck in the heart next to the greeting to die cut at the same time!

Homemade Here For You Greeting Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added the heart and greeting that was stamped all over the background! Just a little fun touch! You could also add some to the envelope!

If you would like to make this Here For You card, check out the supplies listed below! Don’t forget that the Mini Cut & Emboss is on sale for 20% off till the end of March!!! There are also select bundles on sale as well!

February 2022 Paper Pumpkin!!!

The February 2022 Paper Pumpkin isn’t really my style but it’s good to have cards like this on hand. After all I do have lots of nieces and nephews and my own kids that would love a card as cute as these!

February 2022 Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

While monkeys are my favorite, I think this elephant one is actually my favorite out of this set of cards! There is something about the roller skates and cuteness that I love! This card could be used as a birthday card but also as a fun happy mail card. I could send it after grades come in or for a sports tournament or just because! Kids love getting happy mail and words of encouragement as well!

This card shows off the vellum and the little rock stones really well. They are subtle but also add a fun layer and texture to the project! This is another card that is fun to send as general happy mail to brighten someone’s day! Honestly it works for all ages, I think! What about you?! Let me know in the comments below!

I keep thinking this one is a giraffe but it’s not! Still super fun and I love cupcakes so I’m on board! Also, I have to mention that the envelopes for each of these cards are SUPER CUTE and fun! Just over all these 9 cards are fun and different to add to my card collection and I can’t wait to send them out and spread some happiness!

The March Paper Pumpkin Kit is called Beyond the Horizon and coordinates with the On The Horizon Suite!!! There is also 2 stamp sets in the kit to celebrate Paper Pumpkin’s Birthday! Woot Woot! Today is the last day to get signed up so hurry up and do it now! Click here to get the March Kit!

Lovely Layered Look!!!

Posted on

I know that Sale-A-Bration is over but I just have to share this fun card with you! This lovely layered look works with lots of different stamped images. If you don’t have the Sale-A-Bration Friendly Hello, that’s okay! If you do, then I hope this card inspires you to create with it!

Lovely Layered Look, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This look is super cool and it’s super easy to do! That’s my kind of WOW card! For this one, I would say all of the coloring is the hardest part, LOL! You all know I am not a huge fan of lots of coloring!

I started off with a piece of Basic Black cardstock as the card base. Then I cut 2 piece of Basic White measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. One is for the card front and the other one is for the inside of the card. Using Memento Black Ink, I stamped the greeting in the center and then added flowers all around it and to the edge of the cardstock. Then, it’s time to color. I actually colored after I cut the circle but I think it would probably be easier to color first.

Once you are done coloring, simply cut out the greeting with the Layering Circles Dies. Adhere the rectangle to the card front, be sure it is right side up so that the greeting circle lines up with the flowers and the greeting isn’t upside down. Then die cut out the scallop circle in Basic Black cardstock and layer the greeting on top. Then just like a puzzle piece, place this layer over the center of the card! How amazing is that?!?! Simple and fabulous!

If you would like to see this lovely layered look in action, check out this video!
