Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a great week and have an even greater weekend planned! Today, I’m sharing my April Free Stamp Set of the Month. Drum Roll Please……….
Lately, I have been using the Watercolor Wash Stamp Set and so I thought it would be a great one for my Free Stamp Set of the Month! Remember this fabulous sample from Sale-A-Bration?? That pink background was created with this fabulous stamp! It gives that perfect watercolor look each time since we all know actual watercoloring comes out different each time! 🙂 Large background stamps like this can be intimidating but I find that stamping the paper to the stamp works best. Simply, place the stamp face up on the table, ink it all up and place the cardstock over the top. Then place a scrap piece of paper over the top and press all over to get a nice smooth image (without inky fingers). Next, remove your cardstock and you have a fabulous stamped background! Check out this video tutorial to see it in action!
To earn this stamp set for FREE in April, all you need to do is place a $75 order (before shipping & tax) within the month! This can be done online or at one of my events. The stamp set will come from me and not with your order if ordered online. This offer is exclusively available for orders placed through me. Click here to start shopping online! PLEASE REMEMBER! If your order is $150 or more (before shipping and tax), you will automatically qualify for the free stamp set, Watercolor Wash, as well as earn Stampin’ (HOST) Rewards. Woot Woot!
I hope you all have an amazing weekend and stay safe here in the midwest with another snow storm coming though. Yeah….that’s right….more snow in April! I’m so not a fan but perfect staying in and stamping! I’ll see you back here on Monday!!! Happy Stampin’
Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I would like to wish you all a wonderful day filled with love! No matter what, just know that you are loved and you have made a difference in my life and many others too!
This simple and classic card is perfect for Valentine’s Day or any day you would like to share you love….which should be every day! 🙂
I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Pink Pirouette that was ran through the Big Shot in the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder. I love how much texture this adds to the card! Then, I took a piece of Real Red (5-1/4″ x 2″) and added it to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using these to adhere it on helps secure it because the foam falls into the grooves of the embossed cardstock for a smooth look!
Next, I took three Whisper White squares measuring 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″. I stamped the hearts in Memento Black Ink as a bit of a diagonal….stamping perfectly straight isn’t going to happen so I had fun with it! For the third heart, I stamped the greeting in Real Red Ink. All of these images are from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set! Then I colored in the hearts with the Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers. I didn’t really do any blending but just colored with the light and dark in different spots!
After coloring, I added the squares to the card front. There are a few ways to do this for perfect placement. One way is to place them all down and then pick up each one individually to add adhesive and the other is to adhere the left and right and then center the middle one! To finish off the card, I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for a pop of shine!
This card with the pink & gray warm the heart. It just feels so warm and like a big hug! I have really liked using the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set Heartfelt Blooms for cards like this! That floral image and the 3 amazing greetings are just perfect!
I started with a Smoky Slate card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ and stamped the Watercolor Wash Stamp Set all over in Blushing Bride Ink. Using the Heartfelt Blooms Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, I stamped the floral image and greeting in Basic Gray Ink. I added some of the Gray Ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack around the cardstock between the two images and tied it into a knot. Then I layered this onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Finally, I added this layer to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a some texture.
I thought it needed a little bit more so I ended up adding the three little Pearls as well. Do you think it’s too much or just right? Let me know in the comments below!
This card uses a lot of Sale-A-Bration items which is even more fabulous because those are FREE! Stamping is always more fun with free stuff! Both the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set and Shimmer Ribbon Pack (3 rolls) are at the $50 level! Stock up on cardstock or get a few items on that wish list and then enjoy these freebies so you can make this card! Click here to start shopping!!! Don’t forget that orders in increments of $40 will earn Laura’s Loyal Stampers Stickers and orders of $75 or more will earn my Free Stamp Set of the Month too!!! So much amazing stuff going on this month!
Memory keeping is super important because you can look back and everything is documented. It can be passed down for years as well! The pocket style is quick and simple! I have done all types of scrapbooking from small books to big books, digital and now pocket style. Here are my tips and ideas on the pocket style!
With all of the memory keeping I have done, I have loved how little supplies you need to create an amazing album! Of course you can always get all the goodies and have lots of options. Although that sometimes makes it overwhelming to have too many options! Just to get started, all you need is an Album, Pages, Journal Pens, and a Card Collection Kit of your choice! My favorites are always the all occasion/every day ones! I love bright colors too!
I honestly think that Project Life or Pocket Style Memory Keeping is the best way to go for someone who has never scrapbooked before. Project Life is cheaper, easier, and quicker. Now of course that can always be viewed differently by each person but being a scrapbooker, a digital scrapbooker, and a Project Life scrapbooker, that is what I would say.
Cheaper: Of course, you can always purchase tons of goodies but technically you could go as simple as the items above. You can always get a paper trimmer, adhesive, and go all out but you can also go simple too.
Easier: With Project Life, you can drop your photos in the pockets, journal on a card, and drop it in. I love that and how everything in the card collection coordinates. There is no need to pick your colors, papers, embellishments, and find ways to fill a large album page.
Quicker: It can be fairly quick to complete an entire album because of the few items you need and the ease of coordination.
Of course, you can always embellish, change up the colors, add layers, and go all out with Project Life as well! 🙂 It really is a fun way to keep your memories cherished forever. I hope this has given you some ideas and inspiration to start preserving your memories!!! You can see some of my other albums here, here, and here!
