Awesome Otter!!!

You all know I LOVE flowers when it comes to stamping. What about animals?!? Are you a big fan or not? I do thing the Awesome Otter Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set is pretty cute and it’s FREE with a $50 order!

Awesome Otter Stampin' Up Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Come on, you can’t tell me that that face isn’t adorable!!!! And the Party Hat!!! I love it! I also will say that I don’t think this card is specific to really little kids either! What do you think?! Let me know in the comments below! I was inspired to create this card because of a swap card I received from Laura Mulligan so shout out to her! Thank you!

For this card, I started with a Thick Basic White card base and stamped the party hat all over on the top in Pool Party Ink. Next, I added a strip of the Sunshine & Rainbows Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper. Then I stamped the greeting on the corner of a strip of Basic White, added more Designer Paper and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I die cut some of the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper. You can use whichever size circle you would like. Then I stamped the adorable otter onto a piece of Basic White in Memento Black Ink. After coloring him with Stampin’ Blends, I used that same circle die and cut him out. This gives that same rounded look on the bottom. For the top half, I fussy cut out the otter and layered it onto the designer paper circle! For the party hat, I simply stamped it onto some of the designer paper in Memento Ink and then fussy cut it out! This circle was then added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Senior Years!!!

Posted on

I make a LOT of birthday cards for those of all ages and while I love flowers and nature, I thought I would mix it up a little. The Senior Years Stamp Set is super cute and has great greetings for birthday and even retirement greetings!

Senior Years Stampin Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You might remember that this look is similar to those I posted on Tuesday! That is because it is the exact same layout and dimensions just with a different stamp set. I used the Senior Years Stamp Set and colored in with Stampin’ Blends!

MAJOR QUESTION: When making these cards, I couldn’t help but feel like I needed to color the person as if they were the recipient getting the card. Now that is in no way correct because not everyone has this hair cut or would wear a purple dress. Then I feel like will the person getting this card think, does she think that looks like me?!?!? Or will they just think this is a cute card?!?!? Let me know in the comment below!

Candles on Your Cake Homemade Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This greeting for the inside of the card is AMAZING! I love it. Honestly as I have gotten older, I have started using the number of candles for both numbers. So rather than adding 31 candles to a cake, I would add 3 in a row and then 1 spaced over from that to represent 31. After all 31 candles could create a cake going up in flames and that would be a tragedy. LOL

Happy Birthday Old Man, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is the guy version of this card! I just had so much fun with this card style and getting masculine birthday card, feminine birthday cards and then all those beautiful butterfly cards out of it! If you would like to recreate these Senior Years cards, check out the supplies listed below and don’t forget that every $50 earns you a Sale-A-Bration item! Woot Woot!

Simply Marbleous!!!

One of the Sale-A-Bration items that you can earn for FREE with a $50 order is the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper! This paper is classic! Perfect for backgrounds, to stamp over the top, and so much more! I create the same card with each sheet from this paper pack just with the different colors.

Simply Marbleous Designer Paper Stampin' Up, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It was super simple to cut all the same pieces and just use the different inks! The colors were easy to pick because I just used the ones listed on the paper pack! Pick your favorite stamp set and greeting and then it’s all about assembly!

The colors I used are Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight, Blushing Bride and
Flirty Flamingo, Bumblebee and So Saffron, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party, and Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. The card base measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Next, I cut the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper first at 4″ and then I cut that 4″ x 6″ piece down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the card front. With the leftover 4″ x 3/4″ piece I used on the inside of the card as a little decoration to pull it all together! The 2″ x 6″ piece I will use for another project!

Amazing Silhouettes Stampin Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I cut the coordinating cardstock color into 3-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ pieces. Finally, I cut Basic White measuring 3″ x 2-1/2″ for the front and 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside. Stamp and assemble is all there is left! I used the Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set for the butterfly and the greetings are from the Special Moments Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set! I stamped the greeting in Basic Gray Ink!

Special Moments Sale-A-Bration Stampin' Up, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These cards could have a large variety of greetings like thinking of you, birthday, sympathy, and hello. The perfect card style to create a stash of cards. There are 48 sheets in the Designer Series Paper Pack. I created 48 cards and still have that 2″ x 6″ strip to create another 48 cards! How amazing is that?!? And the designer paper was FREE with Sale-A-Bration! Check out the supplies listed below to earn your Free Paper and recreate that cards! Also, check back on Thursday for more samples just like this but using a different stamp set!

Rainbows of Happiness!!!

Posted on

I love Rainbows! There is something magical about them and they bring joy after the storm. Claire is our little rainbow baby which makes me love them even more! When the Rainbows of Happiness Set came out, I knew I had to have it! I also super love bright colors too!!!

Rainbows of Happiness Stampin' Up, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super cute and I love the colors – Magenta Madness, Bermuda Bay, and Mango Melody! It is also one of the cards in my Online Stamp Class for January! Join us on Facebook where I make this card and 4 others tomorrow evening – January 14th at 7:30 p.m. CT!

Some fun tips for the card are to start with the center rainbow first and then space the top and bottom one after that. Another tip would be to start with the largest arch first that way you know the rest will fit because they are smaller.

The only hard thing about this card is that you have to clean the stamps a few times since the colors are switched up for each rainbow! If you were to make multiples, I suggest stamping all of the one size/color on each piece and then switching rather than doing one at a time.

Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added a strip of the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper which is one of the Sale-A-Bration items that you can earn for FREE with a $50 order! Click the items listed below so you can create this Rainbows of Happiness Card!

Join in tomorrow evening to watch me create this card as well as 4 others using the Rainbow Suite from the New January to June Mini Catalog! You can also purchase the PDF Tutorial for these 5 cards by clicking here!

Gingerbread Cookies!!!

Have you ever made Gingerbread Cookies!?!?! I actually have not….I’m not even sure I have eaten one! I do love the smell of those gingerbread/cinnamon ornaments that you make for the tree though!

Gingerbread Cookies Stampin' Up, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have had so much fun with the Frosted Gingerbread Suite this year! It’s super cute and there is so much versatility with it! Check out other projects I made by clicking here!

For the card above, I used an Old Olive card base and then added lots of the Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper. There is a strip of it, a square of it layered on Basic White, and the star and bell are die cut from it as well! See how amazing this paper is!?!?! For the greeting, I punched out some Basic White with the Everyday Label Punch! The greeting is stamped in Real Red Ink using the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set! The star and the greeting are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture! Then I added some Gingerbread & Peppermint Acrylic Shapes.

For the inside of the card, I stamped some of the lace trim for the same stamp set in Old Olive ink on the bottom. Then I added the greeting in Real Red ink.

Here is another quick and simple card I created using more paper from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper! I used the dies to cut out the circles from the designer paper and used the Everyday Label Punch again for the greeting!

These cards are super fun and could use any print from the designer paper pack which makes it even more fun and versatile! I love it! If you would like to make these cards, check out the supplies listed below! Don’t forget these items are retiring soon!

Have A Holly Christmas!!!

Posted on

Simple and fabulous is exactly how I would describe this holly Christmas card! I love the beautiful font and that hint of elegance with the gold leaves and red jewels!!

Holly Christmas Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a 4″ x 4″ piece of Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper which means you can get 9 pieces from one sheet of 12″ x 12″. Woot Woot! I layered that onto Basic White (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″) and then added some Real Red Satin Ribbon around the top for a smooth look between where the designer paper ends! The greeting was stamped from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen Ink! Then I added this to the Old Olive card base!

For the holly berries, I used Real Red Rhinestone Jewels and the Gold Holly Leaves! The leaves were attached with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals but you could also put them on flat with a liquid glue or Tear N Tape!

Stained Glass Perfection!!!

Posted on

Have you tried out the Stained Glass technique recently?!?! It is super fun and fairly easy. Although it is one of those techniques that no 2 will come out the same….that’s always hard for me!

Stained Glass Technique, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To do the stained glass technique, you will need vellum, Stampin’ Blends, and Rubbing Alcohol (the higher the number the better). I found that the darker colors of Stampin’ Blends worked better. When I used light Pool Party, it was barely visible. Color random splotches all over the vellum. This can be messy and all over but be sure to cover the entire piece of vellum. I used Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends! Now for adding the alcohol there can be various ways to do so! Using a Water Painter, Paint Brush, Wink of Stella or simply just dripping it.

For mine, I started by lightly dabbing around the edge of each color with the Water Painter (filled with 91% alcohol). Starting with the darkest color and finishing that one before moving to the next lighter color. Once I finished that, I dripped a few times with the alcohol as well as Wink of Stella! I love the random glitter spots! It’s just perfect! Also, remember that part of the look will be covered up with the Angel so it’s okay if there is a weird spot or it just doesn’t look right. It’s all good!!

For the focal point, I used the Angels of Peace Stamp Set and Night of Navy Ink! The cardstock colors used were Night of Navy and Balmy Blue! The greeting is popped up with the Timeless Label Punch!

Angels of Peace Stampin' Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I hope you try out this Stained Glass Technique because it is super fun! Check out this video if you want more of a visual on how it works! It would be great for a water theme with fishes or mermaids or even a snowy look! Fall colors and using it with leaves and trees would be fabulous too! So many possibilities! Check out the supplies listed below for what I used!

Double Mountain Card!!!

Posted on

Is your to-do list growing as the holidays get closer?!? I have the last of my Christmas Cards to complete and send out this week and my decorating is done! Christmas cookies were made this past weekend so gifts is all I have left! I’m feeling good and hoping to just enjoy the season as much as possible! This fun Double Mountain Card may look a bit stressful but I assure you it’s pretty easy!

Double Mountain Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

If you look at it from the side, this card is simply 2 card bases stuck together. There is a regular Early Espresso card base (4-1/4″ x 11″) and then a slightly smaller Real Red (4″ x 10-3/4″) card base adhered upside down to the Early Espresso base. See that’s not so overwhelming!

Frosted Gingerbread Suite, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After I got my 2 card bases prepped, I adhered the Real Red card base upside down and all the way to the bottom of the front of the Early Espresso card base. The folded edge of the Real Red cardstock should be flush with the bottom of the Early Espresso card front. Next, I folded the Real Red in half back down to create a small mountain of Real Red and a tall mountain of Early Espresso/Real Red. Then I adhered the Frosted Gingerbread Designer Paper to the layer of Real Red on Early Espresso and tied some Real Red Ruffle Ribbon around the card front.

Next, I stamped the greeting from the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set on the small Basic White piece (3 ¾” x 2 ½”) and stamped the lace trim image on the inside Basic White piece (4” x 5 ¼”). Then adhered both to the card. For the focal point, you can die cut or fussy cut an image of your choice from the Designer Paper and adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Decorate with Acrylic Shapes to finish it off!

If you would like to recreate this Double Mountain Card, check out the supplies listed below! This would be super cute for a birthday card too! Just switch up the designer paper and greetings!
