My Mom’s Birthday Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday everyone!!! Today, I thought I would share my Mom’s Birthday Card that I made for her!!! I thought this little piggy was just adorable and while the card doesn’t say Happy Birthday on the front, it was the perfect greeting!

Mom's Birthday Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It was perfect and she loved it which makes it all amazing!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Crumb Cake after running it through the Big Shot in the Pinewood Plank Embossing Folder. Now for the focal point of the little piggy! I stamped him…..or her from the The Little Piggy Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink! Using the Stampin’ Blends, I colored it all in. I used Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Pool Party. Check out this video for a tutorial on the blending!

After coloring the piggy and all, I layered it onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Next, I thought that the flower needed a cute center so I added a Clear Epoxy Jewel! Just perfect!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stamping with a fabulous group of ladies is on my to-do list which makes me happy and my heart full!!!

Laura’s Free Stamp Set for January is the Birthday Wishes For You Stamp Set!!! This stamp set can be earned with a $75 order (before shipping and tax) placed online or at one of my events. Click here to start shopping to earn your free set!

Birthday Wishes For You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The one thing that I love about this card is that it’s quick, simple, and can be changed up to any color you wish! If you have a lot of red cardstock on hand, make red ones. If you need masculine ones, use masculine colors! It’s so easy and fun!

First, I started with a Lemon Lime Twist card base. Then I stamped the banner greeting from the Birthday Wishes For You Stamp Set three times on the bottom right and 3 times on the upper right. The greeting was stamped twice before going back to the Basic Black Ink to give a variation of color. Notice that the third one isn’t really showing but that all depends on where it is stamped or the placement of the designer paper. If you want to stop at just stamping it twice, you certainly can!

Next, I stamped the large birthday greeting from the Birthday Wishes For You Stamp Set on a piece of Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper measuring 3″ x 4-1/4″ using Basic Black Ink! One ink pad makes for few supplies to get out which is even more fabulous! After stamping it, I added this piece to the center of the card. Then using some of the Pick A Pattern Designer Washi Tape, I added a strip to the top and bottom of the designer paper. I just ripped it on both ends so no need for scissors to get a nice clean cut! To finish off the card, I added some Basic Black Baker’s Twine along the inside of the card and tied it into a bow! I just love it!!!

Peek-A-Boo Peach, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another sample in Peek-A-Boo Peach too! No matter what color, this card is just fabulous! What color would you use?? Let me know in the comments below! Don’t forget that you can earn this set for Free with a $75 order this month!!!! Click here to start shopping!

Technique Tuesday – Brusho Color Palette!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means…..I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! I’m showing your how to create a Brusho Color Palette!!! I prefer to have more control and precision with my crafting so I love coloring with Brusho like this!!!

Brusho Color Palette, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the rustic look of this card with that metal shine from the silver embossing and bold color from the Brusho Crystal Colour. Let’s get started!!

I started with a Island Indigo card base. Next, I layered on a piece of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. For the greeting, I took a strip of Pear Pizzaz cardstock and stamped the greeting from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The greeting was stamped in Island Indigo Ink. Then I took some Linen Thread and wrapped it around my fingers to create the loops. I slid the loops off my fingers and placed them on the back of the greeting. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I secured the loops all over the back and made sure the ends were held tight. The greeting was placed on the far right side of the card!

Rustic Flower, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for that stunning flower and amazing technique using the Brusho Crystal Colour. I stamped the flower from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in Versamark Ink onto Watercolor Paper. Then I added Silver Embossing Powder and set it with the Heat Tool. Be sure to firmly stamp the flower since the watercolor paper is textured but of course don’t press so hard that you rock or end up with Versamark Ink all over. 🙂 It’s a delicate balance.

For the color palettes, I took a clear block, tapped a little Brusho Crystal Color onto it and added some drops of water from an Aqua Painter. Then I used the Aqua Painter to color the flower. I used the Brilliant Blue, Moss Green, and Yellow! To be honest, I prefer to use the green in this way because of the color combination used to create the green. I find that when I tap it on the purples and yellows pop too much and I prefer a more green look. After coloring the flower and allowing it to dry, I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it on the left hand side of the card!

Golden Hearts are Best!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!!! These golden hearts just make me happy. Look at that bling and shine!!!

Golden Hearts, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the simple greeting on this card that makes it not so lovey dovey for Valentine’s Day! You can check out a few others I have done here and here! Valentine’s Day is a holiday I love to show how much someone means to me but I don’t always want it to be all mushy!

For this card, I started with a Whisper White card base. Then I layered a piece of Rich Razzleberry (4″ x 5-1/4″) and a piece of the Painted With Love Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″)! Simple and easy to assemble!

For the greeting, I used the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set and coordinating Pretty Label Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). I stamped the greeting in Melon Mambo Ink onto Whisper White. Then I punched it out with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. Next, I layered that onto a Melon Mambo circle punched out with the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch. Finally, I added this to a piece of Calypso Coral that was stamped with the detailed label in Rich Razzleberry Ink and punched out with the Pretty Label Punch. All of these layers were put together with Snail Adhesive. Next, I flipped the greeting over and added loops of Gold Sequin Trim and secured them in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I added this to the lower right corner of my card!

Label Me Pretty, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card was really easy to create so it would be perfect for making multiples! The Painted With Love Designer Paper has lots of different prints that you could mix and match as well. Want to see all the sheets on a full scale? Check out this video!

Are you a big fan of Valentine’s Day or not really? Let me know in the comments below!

Shades of Pink Washi Tape!!!

Posted on

If you know me even a little, you know I love all shades of PINK!!! The Washi Tape Basics Pack 1 is just that and I’m in love! Don’t worry, Basics Pack 2 is shades of green and Basics Pack 3 is shades of blue. Recreate this card with any of those for lots of fun!

Shades of Pink, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Berry Burst card base and layered on a piece of Flirty Flamingo measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″! Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and added the washi tape from the Basics Pack 1. There are 5 rolls in the pack and each are a different shade, pattern, and width which makes this even more fun. I used all 5 but using just 2 or 3 would be cool too! I found that starting in the middle and working my way out was best for spacing. Ripping the ends of the washi tape made this quick and simple too!

Washi Tape Background, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The washi tape layer was added to the card front and then I worked on the greeting. For the greeting, I die cut the Whisper White with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Flirty Flamingo with the Layering Ovals Framelits. I used the greeting from the Jar of Love Stamp Set and stamped it in Berry Burst Ink. Then I placed the greeting upside down and placed some Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon on one end with a little bit peaking out. I added a Stampin’ Dimensional to hold it in place. Then I took it across and looped it on the opposite side of the oval and secured it with another Stampin’ Dimensional. I did this until I had two loops and the ends on opposite sides. I added a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals to even things out and make sure I had it all secure. I’m an over user of those things anyway! Then I added the greeting to the card front and finished it off with some Rhinestone bling!!!

What Pack of Washi Tape would you use the most – Pinks, Blues, or Greens?? Let me know in the comments below!

Black & White With A Pop of Red!!!

Posted on

Last week, I showed off the NEW Brusho Crystal Colour and ways to color with it!!! This fabulous black & white with a pop of red was created using the Brusho Crystal Colour as well! That vibrant background

Black & White With A Pop of Red, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Silver Foil  Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and Petal Passion Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″). This can all be done while waiting for the focal point to dry! 🙂

 Red Brusho Crystal Colour, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using a piece of Watercolor Paper measuring 3-3/4″ x 3″, I wet the entire thing with an Aqua Painter. Then I tapped the Red Brusho Crystal Colour over the top. A little bit goes a long way…..trust me. I love bold vibrant colors and like 8 drops of the powder is perfect! At this point, I used the Aqua Painter to color in the entire piece of paper. If you wish to have a more swish swish look or just the dotted looked, leave it as is. It really is fun how many different ways it can be used! After allowing it to dry, I stamped the dots from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in Versamark all over. Then I poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top and set it with the Heat Tool. This is how I got those shiny dots!

Spot the Dot, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I added some Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around the card and tied the two ends on the right hand side with a little bit of Silver Metallic Thread. For the greeting, I stamped it from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in Basic Black  Ink. I used the Pretty Label Punch to get those nice rounded ends. After stamping the greeting, just turn the punch upside down and slide the greeting in from the top so only one side is in the punch. Punch and then rotate to do the other side. I added the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals and used them to add the watercolor paper to the card front!

Check out the Post & Video I posted last week to see more on Brusho Crystal Colour and tips and tricks!

Technique Tuesday – Blending Butterflies!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means…..I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I’m blending butterflies with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen and oh how stunning do they look……

Blending Butterflies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Don’t you think this looks super real and gorgeous?? I love it! Then I did the blue/purple one for the video and fell deeper in love!!! There are so many ways to color stamped images and while the latest one is fun, sometimes its great to play with your favorite. I have colored this butterfly with the New Brusho Crystal Colour (see here) and now I did this one. Honestly, I think I prefer Watercolor Pencils! I try to mix things up and try it all to show you!

The card base is Daffodil Delight. Then, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″) and stamped  the butterfly and greeting from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog! I used Archival Black Ink since I am watercoloring. Next, I used the Watercolor Pencils and just added in some color. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight for this card!

Using Blender Pens, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After adding all the color, I started with the lightest and blended with the Blender Pen. I kept the yellow in place in the center. Then I blended and smeared around the Pumpkin Pie. Making sure to clean the pen tip in between so the color didn’t super mix together. Then I blended the red starting on the outside and then smearing with the orange in middle. I just love how it turned out!

Tri Color Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I layered this piece onto some Basic Black measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I tied some Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon around it between the butterfly and greeting for a little pop and texture. Then I added this piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!!

Blue Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is the finished card from the one I did on the video below! I used Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, and Rich Razzleberry for this one! LOVE IT!!! Which one is your favorite – Yellow/Red/Orange or Blues/Purple?? Let me know in the comments below!

You Are The Best!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Today’s I’m sharing this “You Are The Best” card which is perfect for Valentine’s Day without being all lovey dovey! It can also be used any time of the year!!!

You Are The Best, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card was super simple and with the fabulous Sale-A-Bration Happy Wishes Stamp Set you can mix and match greetings! This is one of the stamp sets that you can get for FREE with a $100 order. This set has 16 stamps in it. There is a large “best” and “happy” and then lots of greetings that coordinate. I love it! Stamp the large greeting in black or gray and color it in or just stamp it in any color!

I started with a Whisper White card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. The fold is on the left hand side and I went with this style so that I could tie the ribbon around the left side. This way I used less ribbon than if I wrapped it around the 5-1/2″ part of the card. I used the Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon and tied it around to the inside of the card and into a knot on the front! Next, I layered on a piece of the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper measuring 4″x 3″. With this size divisible by 12″, I got 12 of these pieces out of one sheet.

For the greeting, I used the Layering Ovals Framelits. The scallop circle was cut in Melon Mambo and the the smooth oval in Whisper White. Then, I stamped the greeting from the Happy Wishes Stamp Set in Fresh Fig Ink. I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I love being able to mix and match the greeting to create lots of different styles of cards like this. Another fun change, I used Gold Metallic Ribbon and Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon on other samples! I love having the ability to mix and match!

Valentine’s Day Card Ideas!!!

Posted on

Today, I’m sharing with you some Valentine’s Day card ideas!!! I love Valentine’s Day because I feel like it’s a great chance to show your love, happiness, appreciation (whatever it may be) to those around you. I’m not a fan of the roses and chocolates but the CARD is a must!!!

Valentine's Day Card Ideas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a great concept using the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog! It’s not super lovey dovey but still shows love!

I started with a Melon Mambo card base. Next, I cut 2 pieces of the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper measuring 5″ x 2″ and 3″ x  2″! I used the same sheet of 12″ x 12″ from the pack but used one side for one piece and the other side for the other piece! The larger piece is layered on Rich Razzleberry measuring 5-1/4″ x 2-1/4″. The smaller piece is layered on Gold Foil Paper measuring 3-1/4″ x 2-1/4″. I just love how this designer paper has those gold flecks in it. It is just stunning! Before adding the rectangles to the card, I stamped the greeting from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry Ink. The greeting is a bit tight so it’s best to stamp it first. Next, I layered on the piece to the left. The smaller piece has some Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon wrapped around it and tied into a knot. Then I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little bit of texture. I finished off the front with a few Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Hugs & Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the second piece of the greeting on it.

If you would like to see this all in action as well as a few other Valentine’s Day cards, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. If you would like a notification when I post a new video, be sure to click the bell right next to the subscribe!!! Let me know if you have any tip and tricks to share in the comments below!

Quick & Simple Birthday Bow!!!

Posted on

Birthday cards are the most needed for me! Sometimes I need one now so quick and simple is good! This birthday bow card is just that!!

Birthday Bow, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The other super cool thing about this cards is your can change up the colors to what you like the best or what you have on hand! There are endless possibilities with this card style.

I started with a Peek-A-Boo Peach card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ and added a strip of the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper along the right side (1″ x  3-3/4″). The awesome thing about this is that you can get like 8 pieces from one sheet of the 6″ x 6″ designer paper. Woot Woot! For the stamping, I used the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog! The greeting was stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink and the bow in Lemon Lime Twist Ink. For the bow, I stamped the large portion of the bow first and after stamping off once. Then I stamped all the little pieces in full strength Lemon Lime Twist. Since the stamp set is photopolymer, it is pretty easy to line up and stamp the second image!

Do you like quick and simple cards like this or one with more layers? What would you add or change to this card to step it up? Let me know in the comments below! I did think about adding some ribbon or stamping more bows but then I thought less is more maybe!
