Feeling Like an Artist!!!

This card makes me feel like an artist and painter and let me tell you I am far from that. I don’t have the patience! But my Grandpa was a true artist with oil painting, watercolor, chalks, pencils, you name it! I feel like this is a little bit of him coming out in me and that makes me smile! 🙂 This card was created with the Peaceful Petals Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog! Oh how I can’t resist a flower stamp set! I used Elegant Eggplant for my card base and embossed the background with my favorite folder – Perfect Polka Dot! For the flower image, I used watercolor paper and my Stazon Ink so the image wouldn’t bleed when I started coloring it in. For coloring in the flower, I used an Aqua Painter and then re-inker ink for the Ink Pads. Aqua Painters are not my favorite because I tend to squeeze too much and have one big watery mess. But every once in awhile patience comes to me and I create a masterpiece like this one! LOVE IT! I love it so much I don’t want to send it out….do you ever have that problem? Or is that just me? Faux Watercoloring!!!

Do you like the look of watercoloring but don’t have the time or patience (in my case) to watercolor, allow it to dry and then assemble your card?? More Retro Fresh Fun!!!!

Some may think this card is a bit much with all the colors and stripes but others may say it is colorful and amazing! I used the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper for the background and Retro Fresh Washi Tape on both ends of my Deco Label greeting piece. I love coloring my flowers different colors with the markers and this image is perfect for that! The flowers and greeting

come from the Embellished Events Stamp Set! That is one of my favorites because it has great images and perfect greetings for all occasions! Added a little Chevron ribbon to the card to complete it! Let me know in the comments what you think!!!

The card here on the left is so simple and FABULOUS! I used the Retro Fresh Washi Tape and just layered them on Very Vanilla. Then I layered that onto Coastal Cabana and So Saffron! The greeting is from the Million and One Stamp Set…..love it because the other greeting says FABULOUS! 🙂

All NEW Retro Fresh!!!!!

The Occasions Mini Catalog is HERE!!!! Woot Woot! There is a new collection – Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape! I have loved playing with these. The colors are a little out of my usual because there is brown in there 😉 but Coastal Cabana always draws me in!!!! All of the colors in this paper include Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, and Tangerine Tango! I love how just a little piece of the Designer Series Paper makes this card POP! Those little pieces are 1″ x 2-1/2″ so in a 12″ x 12″ sheet, you can make millions of these cards! I used my markers to get the different colors on the greeting! The greeting is from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set! I love all of the thank you greetings in this set! I added a few Candy Dots to the bottom for a little pop of color and texture! I use those the same way I use pearls and rhinestones rather than as brads. Be sure to check back for more samples using this Designer Series Paper and the Washi Tape!
