Technique Tuesday – Collage Stamping!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! We are stamping all kinds of images and lots of different colors and adding texture. It is (was) not really my style but I think I’m starting to love it and I have figured it out!!!

Collage Stamping, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this beautiful??? My favorite is that amazing background!!! Let’s get started on this amazing card!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Timeless Textures Stamp Set, Lots of Labels Framelits, lots of ink pads

I started with a Pool Party card base and stamped the floral image from Timeless Textures all over in Whisper White Craft Ink. You want to do this first so you can set it aside to dry. I didn’t go in any specific pattern, just stamped all over. Then I die cut one of the labels from the Lots of Labels Framelits and cut off the top bubble piece. This created a beautiful banner or tag. It is a super fun way to use the larger framelits on a card as well! Love it! I started with the greeting which is from One Big Meaning Stamp Set. I used my markers to color in the words – Bermuda Bay and Delightful Dijon. I stamped that down and then stamped the floral image right on top of it in Pool Party (stamped off once for a lighter look). Next, I took the tea cup stain image and inked it up in Crumb Cake Ink but then stamped off twice before stamping on my label. Collage stamping is all about the balance of colors and images. If everything was loud and bright it would look like a mess so you need those layers of colors and images. The final image I used is the little dots, again from the Timeless Textures Stamp Set and Tangerine Tango Ink. I stamped a few all around in the full strength. You could always stamp off a bit or even stamp a few times on your project for even more color variation.

Thanks Kindly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now your greeting piece is all done and it is time to add texture. I added a little piece of the White Tea Lace Doily to the top of the label and I added strips of Pool Party Cotton Ribbon to the back. I added it to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Of course, I thought a little bling would be perfect so I placed a few pearls randomly around the greeting as well! I love it!

Do you like collage stamping? Do you think it looks messy or crowded? It’s okay I do too a bit but it’s super fun too!!! Have you tried it out? I challenge you to play around with a few images and try it out. If you would like to see this all in action, you can check out my Video Tutorial below or click here! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if your new!

You are Tea-Riffic!!!

Tea-riffic Time, www. LaurasStampPad.com

I love the colors in this card and the adorable greeting! I am really loving the patterns in the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack! The colors are fun and the patterns are subtle enough that you can layer them and use them as a great background!

I started with a Whisper White card base and added a piece of the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I wrapped some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine around twice and tied it into a bow. I always double knot it before creating the bow so that it is nice and tight on my card! I stamped the cup from the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set in Crushed Curry onto Whisper White and die cut it with the coordinating framelits that are no longer available. Have no fear, the lines are pretty easy and fussy cutting won’t kill you! 🙂 After cutting it out, I stamped the little heart from the same set twice on the cup to add a little subtle design since it is Crushed Curry on Crushed Curry.

A Nice Cuppa Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I added another piece of the Designer Series Paper measuring 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ to the card front and then placed the cup on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Then I took a scrap piece of the Designer Series Paper that is 1/2″ wide and I ripped both ends to make it look like Washi Tape! How cute is that? It is a great way to use up little scraps of Designer Series Paper. Love it! For the greeting, I stamped it from the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set in Basic Gray. I cut it with the Washi Label Punch (sold out as well). Once you punch it out on one end, you can slide it back in the punch to make the image shorter. How cool is that? I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! Simple, fabulous, and a great way to use lots of Designer Series Paper!

Fun Flower Bouquet!!!

Posted on

Flower Bouquet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card looks rather simple and it is but there are a few tricks I wanted to show you with this one! That flower bouquet from the Number of Years Stamp Set is a multi-step stamp so that you can create a beautiful bouquet!! I am loving all of the looks you can create with it. There are 3 different types of flowers you can use – the purple double flower image, the coral 5 petal flower, and the blue flower.

I started with a Whisper White card base and added some of the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper to the left hand side. How appropriate to use that DSP with a flower bouquet on a birthday card!?!?! Love it! 🙂 After I added the Designer Paper, I wrapped some Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the card twice and tied it into a bow. I always recommend tying the twine into a double knot to get a tight wrap and then make the bow! Now for the bouquet of flowers. I used the Number of Years Stamp Set and stamped the greenery image in Mint Macaron. You want to be sure to press hard in the center as it seems this larger image needs firm pressure. A few of the times, I noticed if I didn’t press in the middle, it would be light or missing a few leaves. I stamped the double tulip flower in Wisteria Wonder. This image needs to be stamped on the left hand side on the double stems. Then I stamped the 5 petal flower in Calypso Coral and the coralbells (I think) in Marina Mist. The 5 petal flower is a single flower that I stamped twice. You can use only one of the flowers for all of the stems or mix and match. I love that! It’s so much fun and each look is different! For the greeting, I used the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and Marina Mist ink! This look is perfect for any occasion and you can mix up darker colors or brighter colors too. I love it.

Washi Label Fun!!!

Posted on

Washi Label Fun, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is quick and simple and uses all of those little scraps of Designer Series Paper that are left behind. I love that! I used the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog for this card!

I started with a Rose Red card base and added a piece of Have A Cuppa Designer Series Paper measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″. I went with a basic pattern for the background since I used lots of colors and patterns of the focal point. I took all the scraps from that same stack that I had left over from other cards and punched out pieces with the Washi Label Punch (no longer available). I punched out 4 from the Designer Series Paper and 1 from a scrap of Whisper White. I stamped the greeting from One Big Meaning in Bermuda Bay onto the white one! I added all of the DSP pieces with Snail Adhesive and I popped up the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Simple and fabulous!!! You can use up all of your DSP scraps with this card style!

You're Lovely, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this beautiful flower card and that amazing greeting. Trust Me, You’re Lovely! Everyone should know that they are lovely and amazing….especially all of you amazing followers!! 🙂

I started with a card base of Whisper White. Then I took a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock measuring 4″ x 4-1/2″ and layered a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 4″) on top. I added this to my card front and stamped the greeting from the You’re So Lovely Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. The greeting was stamped in Basic Gray. The flower was created with the Botanical Builder Framelit Set. Don’t forget that you can Bundle and Save 15% when you bundle the DSP, Framelits, and Stamp Set! The leaves are Mint Macaron and the flowers are Blushing Bride and Crushed Curry. I added the flower to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the little flower to the bigger flower with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I used the same pen to adhere the sequins for a little bling to make it lovely!

Anniversary Love!!!

Posted on

Anniversay Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This past Saturday was my 5 Year Wedding Anniversary. You may have heard me say I don’t typically make card specifically for each person. I do pick out specific cards from stash for people though. Well when it comes to my hubby, Brad, I do make it special. We had a busy week last week and on Friday night we both didn’t have our cards. He went shopping for one and said nothing jumped out at him so he was going to make one as well. I said should we go to the stamp room and have a craft night. He said no because you are done so much faster than me…….well that was the jinx he put on me. He said his card was quick and let me tell you I spent over an hour on this one. I was like a kid in a candy store going through all my options and thinking it through like it was a life or death situation. In the end I think it turned out perfect and I love it!

I used Old Olive as a the card base and embossed 3 pieces of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. For the front panel, I tied the knot of Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon around it and added it to the card base. The other two panels went on the inside. I used the Number of Year Stamp Set and Large Numbers Framelits for the greetings and numbers. Bundle & Save 15% I layered the number 5 on the Decorative Label Punch and added a layer behind it as well to really make it pop. Check out this video on how to create that look! I thought it needed a bit more so I added some flowers using the Petite Petals Punch. The leaves are just 2 of the flower petals……how cute!?!?!?! I added a little Black Candy Dot to the center of the flowers!

Number of Years, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I snapped a picture of the inside before I wrote in it. I did the numbers in Melon Mambo with the Large Number Framelits. I added little banners next to each one with little notes of love on them. I brushed the edges of the banners with my Sponge Daubers in Melon Mambo and Old Olive for more pop of color!!! I really like how it turned out!!!

Domo Anniversary, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is Brad’s Card to me! He cheated a little and printed the Domo on the card front. He then punched out the hearts and added them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The first thing I noticed was the 5 hearts for our 5 year anniversary. Brad said that wasn’t on purpose. LOL I love it!!!

You can check out some of our other cards to each other here, here and here!

Let Us Celebrate!!!

Celebrate with the Stars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super appropriate for today because there is so much to celebrate!!!! The end of April is full of Birthdays and Anniversaries in my family! My parents celebrated their 35th Wedding Anniversary earlier this week, my Aunt and Uncle celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary this week and tomorrow Brad and I will celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary!!! Also, today is my Dad’s Birthday!!! I also have a few friends with Birthdays this week as well! Super fun and exciting to let us all celebrate!!! Plus it is FRIDAY!!!

I started this card with a Crushed Curry card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the little stars from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set in Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. Once it is all stamped, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder! This gives the card some texture and even more stars! I love it! Then because there still aren’t enough stars. I die cut 3 stars with the Stars Framelits in Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Silver Foil Paper. I stamped the Let Us Celebrate from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and it looked too small so I added the Congratulations as well! Then I added all of the stars to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! To finish it off, I brushed some Wink Of Stella on the stars and tied some Melon Mambo Stitched Satin Ribbon on there!! I love the bling, the layers, the texture, and the colors!!

All the Stars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Stars are great for lots of different occasions and they work for both girls and guys! Don’t forget that Graduation is around the corner. This would be great for that!!! What color combination would you use? Let me know in the comments below!

Peonies…..without the Ants!!!

Posted on

Birthday Peonies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how Designer Series Paper can make a card so fabulous and it was really easy to create! This card consists of a few layers, a stamped greeting and tying some ribbon yet it is so beautiful!!! I’m not 100% sure if those are Peonies on the paper but I do love Peonies (minus the ants)!!!

For this card, I started with a card base of Watermelon Wonder. Then I cute out a piece of Old Olive measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. I added some of the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (retiring) to the bottom portion and Blushing Bride cardstock to the top portion. Before adhering it on, be sure to stamp your greeting. I used the Happy Birthday Everyone Hostess Stamp Set (retiring) and stamped it in Watermelon Wonder. Then I adhered it all on the Old Olive. Using some Whisper White Seam Binding (retiring), I tied a knot around the overlap of the 2 papers. Then I adhered this piece to the card base and that’s it!!! Quick and Simple!!!

This card is pretty basic and would be great for any occasion! What occasion would you use it for – Wedding? Birthday? Sympathy? Thinking of You? Let me know in the comments below!

Also, be sure to check out my Video today about how I use Rubbing Alcohol in my Craft Room! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it! Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any of the videos! I post a video every Tuesday and Thursday!

World’s Best Mother!!!

World's Best Mother, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Mother’s Day is right around the corner so now is the time to start working on that perfect card for the World’s Best Mother! I could go on and on about why my Mom is the best but I’m sure you all could! To be honest, I’m not sure whether this card will go to my Mom or not. I have a couple ideas for her card and just don’t know which one is best! Maybe I’ll just send her a card every day the week before Mother’s Day with each one saying why she is so fabulous. Wouldn’t that be wonderful……good idea Laura! 🙂 (I’m working on the World’s Best Daughter Award! hehe) Let’s get started on this beauty!

I started with a Whisper White card base and stamped the greeting from the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set (retiring) in the bottom right corner in Rose Red. Then I took a piece of Old Olive measuring 4-1/4″ x 5″ and placed the vine framelit from the Botanical Builder Framelits diagonal towards the bottom of the cardstock. I ran it through the Big Shot and that is how I created that beautiful vine piece. I placed that on the card lined up with the top. Then I added various flowers which were die cut from the Botanical Builder Framelits. The center flower is in Rose Red and I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up! The next flowers were done in Pumpkin Pie and I adhered them flat to the card. The little centers were done in Daffodil Delight and I adhered them on with the Fine Tip Glue Pen! The last flowers were die cut in Elegant Eggplant and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added some Pearls to a few of the flowers for a little bling! You could really do any assortment of colors and use up some scraps you have laying around! Love it!

Technique Tuesday – Puzzle Pieced Roses!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! We are back at it with another Technique after last week’s celebration!! This technique uses my favorite Framelits – Rose Garden and some bling!!!! Check this out!

Glimmer Roses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t those roses just stunning? I am still on the fence as to whether this card is a bit much or just fabulous! My husband says its a bit much and only one rose was needed. Let me know in the comments below what you think. Be honest!!!

SUPPLIED NEEDED: Rose Garden Framelits, Big Shot, Snail Adhesive, Paper of Your Choice

I used the Silver Foil Paper and Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper for these roses! I die cut the rose with the Big Shot once in the Silver Foil and once in the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. Then I popped out all of the pieces with the Big Shot Die Brush. Be very gentle with the Glimmer Paper. It could brush off a little glitter and we want all the bling!!! Be sure to keep track of all of the little pieces that you pop out. Then I took a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and placed one of the rose frames in the corner where I wanted it. I took a pen and marked little dotted lines around the INSIDE of the rose frame. This was my guide for adding Snail Adhesive to the area. I took away the rose frame and filled the entire area with adhesive. Then I placed the Glimmer Rose down and started putting together the rose with the Silver Foil pieces inside. It really is like a puzzle!

Blush Rose, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You will repeat the same thing in the opposite corner with the Silver Foil Rose frame and glimmer puzzle pieces. If for some reason you don’t have enough adhesive, you can always add a dab of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I just found it to be much easier and less messy to use the Snail Adhesive for the majority of it, rather than gluing each piece in. Once I had my roses complete, I added some Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the middle and stamped my greeting. The greeting is from the Number of Years Stamp Set and I stamped it in Rose Red (stamp off once). I added this to a Whisper White Card base and Viola!!! Love it!!!

Silver Rose, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I played around with a few other looks as well. Here is a Black Glimmer Paper (ops….retired from the Holiday Mini Catalog) and Real Red Cardstock. You could always do Real Red Foil Paper or all cardstock!! I think this one is amazing!!!

Red Rose, www.LaurasStampPad.com

And then I just had to do a Pink Rose!!!! I used one of the other Framelits in the Rose Garden Set. The border is Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the puzzle pieces are Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz cardstock! I LOVE IT!!!!
