Summer Flowers!!!

Posted on

I’m going to hold onto Summer as long as I can. Last week, Fall tried to creep in with it’s 50/60’s over night though. Not today, Fall! Today, I’m sharing some summer flowers because they brighten my day!!!

Summer Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You all know how much I love flowers and the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set is so up my alley! Add in that cute mason jar and I’m hooked. Plus the jar is a punch so it’s quick and simple!

I started with a Misty Moonlight card base. Next, I added a strip of Just Jade that I embossed with the Greenery Embossing Folder. This gives the perfect amount of texture and I love it! Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3″ x 4-1/4″ for the focal point. You can use any of the flowers in the set which makes this card even more versatile. Be sure to stamp the flowers close to the top of the cardstock so there is plenty of room for the jar below. I used Memento Black Ink to stamp the flowers and then the stems below it. The stems don’t have to match up exactly with the flowers since the jar covers up the overlap part.

Now it’s time to color! Again with the soft blues and greens in the base, you can really color the flowers any color you wish! I went with Stampin’ Blends – Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Daffodil Delight, and Just Jade. Be sure to color the stems as well!

Now for that fun jar, stamp the vellum cardstock with the jar and let it dry completely before you punch it out. Since vellum is a slick surface, it can take a bit longer to dry than regular cardstock. Place the jar over the flowers to see exactly where you need to stamp your water then scoot it over to the side out of the way but still as a guide. I stamped my water in Misty Moonlight stamped off once for a lighter look! After stamping it down, I added the jar over the top with Mini Glue Dots. The baker’s twine was actually added before I adhered down the jar but you can always adhere the bottom portion down first. This will help it hold still for you a little more.

I hope you all enjoyed this Summer Flowers card as much as I did! If you want to recreate it, check out the supplies below. For more inspiration using the Jar of Flowers, click here and here!

A New Take…

Posted on

So I had some leftover pre-cut cards that I played with the other day! I decided not to create the same exact card as the original. You can check that out here! Here is a new take on the card using different stamps!

A New Take on an Old Look, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the same Seaside Spray card base. Then some of the cards used both the Whisper White and Pacific Point cardstock and some only used one. For ink colors, I played with Basic Gray, Pacific Point, and Seaside Spray! Some of the flowers I even colored in with Stampin’ Blends to add a pop of color! Each card looks totally different and I really like it. The stamp set that I used was the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set! It was perfect for all of the different looks!

Different Shades of Blue Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here I stamped the left flower in Seaside Spray and then colored it in. It came out looking super soft! The middle flower was stamped in Basic Gray and then colors in with Seaside Spray and it has a much bolder look. The flower on the right is stamped in Pacific Point and colored in with Seaside Spray. I think that one is my favorite. Which one is your favorite??? Let me know in the comment below!

Check out all of the supplies listed below. If you want to see me create these cards, I did it on a Facebook Live a few weeks ago. Check it out here!!!

Bundle of Sunflowers!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! This card was created for a large virtual demonstrator event that I was apart of and I really fell in love with it! The bundle of sunflowers are just so fun and fresh! The greeting speaks volumes and the layout is a new one I haven’t used before (or at least in a long time)!

Bundle of Sunflowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I started with a Misty Moonlight card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Before stamping on this piece, I placed the Bumblebee (1-1/2″ x 4″) on the right hand side as a guide for where my flowers should be stamped. Since I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers, I stamped the images in Memento Black Ink! Be sure to leave a little bit of space between the flowers and the stems so your bow fits perfectly in that gap!

The piece of Bumblebee was actually created with the lined images from the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set. I stamped it diagonally and just stamped once around the middle of the cardstock and then worked my way out. Just follow along in that same diagonal pattern and you are golden. No need for perfection as it is a small piece and the greeting covers a lot too. After stamping, add it to the far right edge. Then using some of the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper, I cut a 1/2″ x 4″ piece and placed it over the edge of the Bumblebee. This gives a smoother look between the two papers.

Coloring Sunflowers with Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After coloring the flowers and assembling all the pieces, I added the greeting on and the little ribbon bow. I used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow! For the greeting, I used the Label Me Lovely Punch which is my favorite right now! <3

Is there such a thing???

Posted on

You all know how much I love stamping with flowers, right??? Is there such a thing as too many flowers???

Is there such a thing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I created this card and I love it but I also think it might be too much! Let me know what you think in the comments below! I did change this up and went with a similar but different look! Stay tuned as I will post that card soon!

I started with a Misty Moonlight card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the flowers from Jar of Flowers on either side at the top. Since I colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends, I stamped the flowers in Memento Black. The Blends that I used were Rococo Rose, Soft Seafoam, Daffodil Delight, and Seaside Spray! I, also, stamped another set of the flowers on scrap paper and fussy cut them out!

Using the diagonal strip image from the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set, I stamped a piece of Bumblebee cardstock with Bumblebee Ink. Don’t worry if this isn’t perfect. Just start with an angle and keep going. It will be just fine and adding the greeting over the top helps to hide any imperfections!

Jar of Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now to assemble it all together. I added the fussy cut flowers in the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some texture and make the flowers pop more. Then I added the Bumblebee stamped cardstock on the lower half of the cardstock. Using Misty Moonlight Ribbon, I placed a strip across the card where the paper overlaps! This gives a nice smooth look between the two paper! Now you can add this to your card base. Then I placed a little bow that I created with the same ribbon in the center using a Mini Glue Dot.

For the greeting, I used one from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and the Label Me Lovely Punch. Here is a video tutorial for you to see how I layered the label punch! You can always use the greeting of your choice. I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So let me know if you are loving this card or if you think it’s too much….if there is such a thing! 🙂 If you would like to recreate this card, check out the supplies below! If you would like to see more in this Flowers For Every Season Suite, click here!

Some of them I added an additional layer of cardstock and then layered designer paper measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″. Then I just stamped and decorated with the Over the Moon Stamp Set!!!

Beautiful Spring Day, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is very simple to make and you can always change up the greeting for any occasion! A little bit of embossing with the Parisian Embossing Folder. Some added fun with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. Coloring with Stampin’ Blends!

Blue Dress, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I used Pool Party for her dress for a soft subtle blue look! Highland Heather and Old Olive were used to color the flowers! Of course any color would work for those flowers too!!

I hope you are all enjoying the beauty of nature right now. The sunshine and flowers all in bloom are just wonderful and they sure add joy to my life right now in this chaos. Sure they also add pollen to my nose but let’s not talk about that. Find joy in the little things each day! Being stuck at home with a 2 year old and 2 working parents isn’t easy. The extra snuggles, the hand picked dandelions, and the squeals heard when bubbles are made sure make it all amazing! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Try Out Double Stamping!

Posted on

You all know how much I love flowers so the more the better, right?!? Check out this fun double stamping technique to have more flowers on your card!!!

Double Stamping, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Pretty Peacock card base and layered on another piece that was embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder. This adds subtle texture to the card. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3″ x 3-1/2″. This is the piece I am going to double stamp on with the Tags In Bloom Stamp Set! Be sure to stamp with the label centered and the flowers in the upper left corner. Then flip the piece around and line up the label to stamp again for flowers on the other side. Photopolymer stamps makes this super easy!

I colored in the flowers with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends! Then for the greeting, I used the stamps from the Tags In Bloom Set and punched it out with the coordinating Label Me Lovely Punch. I added it to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a fabulous layered look! Next, I layered it onto some Daffodil Delight and added it to the card front. I went for an off set look just to go with someone different!

Tags In Bloom, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added some flowers and another greeting from the Tags In Bloom Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set. Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st! This set is super fun and fabulous so I highly recommend it!!! 🙂

Coloring Foil Paper!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know that means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I’m coloring foil paper to really make this amazing Flowering Foil Designer Paper shine!!!!

Coloring Foil Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love how this card turned out! It’s so pretty and that color combination is fabulous – Highland Heather and Mint Macaron!

There are different ways to color the Flowering Foil Paper but you can also leave it as is with the white and foils! I colored with both sponge daubers and Stampin’ Blends. I prefer the Stampin’ Blends because I really like the clean look!

Sponge Daubers vs Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The piece on the right was done with all Sponge Daubers. The flower (Highland Heather) was really easy to do. The leaves (Mint Macaron) got a bit trickier as they come to a point and Sponge Daubers don’t have as precise of a point. Then when it came to doing those little buds (Calypso Coral) it got really messy. In order to make it look less messy, I filled in around the flowers with some Pool Party. It’s not horrible but not clean looking either. For the one on the left, I used Sponge Daubers for flowers and leaves and then Stampin’ Blends for the buds. I loved how that looked so then I did the 3rd one with all Stampin’ Blends and that’s the one I used on my card!

Flowering Foil Designer Series Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After coloring it, I layered it onto Highland Heather and then onto the Mint Macaron card base! I used the Tags in Bloom Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set and Label Me Fancy Punch for the greeting! It’s perfect for any occasion! Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration ends a week from today!!! Also, my Free Stamp Set of the Month for this month is Full of Happiness. You will get this set for free when you order $75 or more before tax and shipping!
