My 2013 Scrapbook is DONE!!!!

Posted on

I know I know! Many of you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking how far behind you are on your scrapbooking! Don’t worry and start going Digital! I am not usually done with last year’s album by this time! But I did my 2013 Album in My Digital Studio and it was super fun and simple! There was no hauling out the album and sorting through pictures and making a big mess. I sat on the couch, opened my laptop and turned on one of my favorite shows (DWTS or Friends probably)!

Okay this page is beyond precious because look at the adorable baby! I used the Sunny Day Designer Series Paper and Embellishments (this was a past Simply Scrappin’ Kit, nothing in My Digital Studio retires).

This is the second page and I used more embellishments for my journaling! Super precious!

When it comes to my Christmas pages, I always have TONS of photos and no room to write what happened! This year I took a portion of this page to write up a little bit about our big Family Christmas! I used the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin’ Kit for lots of my holidays pages! Love it!!!

I love to end my albums with a little re-cap of the year – major events, year recap, and other memories! I remembered, and was able to fit it in, this year! I love it! My 2013 Album was…..drum roll……88 pages long! I know what you are thinking….THAT IS A LOT!!! But the awesome thing about digital is it is still super thin and small. Many other years I had two 12″ x 12″ Albums for one year and they weigh about 5,000 pounds each.

This album is compact and less than an inch wide! So much better for putting on the shelf and carrying around to share with other! Another thing that I feel like I should share – it cost about $130 (shipping and tax)! That may seem like a lot if you aren’t a scrapbooker but if you are then you probably think that is a steal! After buying your album, pictures, adhesive, paper, embellishments, paper trimmer, corner rounder punch and so much more….it is a lot more than $130! I think you should try out My Digital Studio and see for yourself! Try it for 30 Day FREE or you can purchase it for $19.95!

I can’t wait to get started on my 2014 Album (which I am already 5 month behind in)! ๐Ÿ™‚

My Digital Studio – 2013 Album!!!!

I decided to do my 2013 Scrapbook in My Digital Studio! I found it to be very quick, simple, and fun! By quick, I don’t mean it took me 2 hours (it was much longer than that), BUT I did enjoy sitting on the couch watching my shows and scrapbooking the evening away. At the end of the evening, I closed my laptop and it was all cleaned up! That part was amazing!!! Here are a few pages that I completed!!!! There is so much more you can do with My Digital Studio but I went the simple route with mostly pictures and some journaling (that was my style in traditional scrapbooking as well).

This page was real simple with some photos of going to a Cardinals Game! I rounded the corners of the pictures which I super love! I get on a kick of rounded corners on all pages! Love it!

This picture is one of my favorites! I mean the beauty of nature is just amazing! This was taken on our family vacation which is so relaxing and fun! I took this photo one evening. I knew I wanted it to be in my scrapbook and really showcase it. I did the photo as the entire page and added in the quote. When my husband saw this, he said,”But you don’t ever do nothing, you always need something to do.” I responded with, “It’s a reminder!” ๐Ÿ™‚

On vacation, we spend lots of time on the Lake and in the Pool! After all, its summer time and its so much fun!!! As you can see I rounded the corners on these photos too! I just love the soft look!

This page was created for my nephews birthday! Circles are so cute! I added in a “stamped” Happy Birthday all along the bottom of the 2 page spread! None of these pages included a lot of Designer Series Paper or embellishments but they are still super cute and just how I wanted them!

My Digital Studio – 2013 Album!

So I can officially say that I am “caught up” with my Scrapbook to 2013 (and as I write this this post I’m only 2 months behind)!!! I know I know, many of you are probably years behind on your albums. Don’t hate me! JOIN ME! This year I have decided to do my album digitally with My Digital Studio!!!! Super quick and simple! I scrapbook on random evenings while watching TV on the couch! There is no mess to drag out or put away and I’m multi-tasking. ๐Ÿ˜‰ hehe I’m thinking about starting a My Digital Studio “Class” where we all get together on our laptops and work on My Digital Studio projects (scrapbooks, cards, etc.) This way you have dedicated time set aside to work on your project and if you come across a problem or have a question, I will be there to help! Post in the comments if you are interested in joining a class like this! Okay so here are a few pages from my album!

MDS, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My Scrapbooks are ALL about photos! I love taking pictures and to me a picture says a thousand words! My pages focus 95% on pictures with maybe a few embellishments and a little bit of writing. I do enjoy digital scrapbooking because there is a spell check and a backspace! Come on, you all know you have made a misspelling before or your mind wanders off and you write the wrong word! I enjoy writing more when I can type versus my handwriting!

Everyone has a different scrapbook style! You can use my pages as inspiration and you can add many more stamps, embellishments, and layers or you can keep it super simple! With My Digital Studio, you can layer your photos with color or white! You can add ribbons, buttons, banners, brads, etc! There are templates where your entire album has the same theme and colors throughout or you can customize each page to your liking! I will say that not all of my pages have polka dots although the ones I picked to share with you seem to all have them! I hope you are inspired to try out My Digital Studio! My Family Album in My Digital Studio!!

Posted on

Today I am sharing my Family Album that I have been working on for what seems like years. I have been wanting to create a Family Tree Album for awhile now! Then Stampin’ Up came out with a Family History template and I got super excited! This template has nice subtle colors of blues, greens, and yellows! It has a perfect layout for adding in your family information which is great because you just fill in the information that it asks for or you can change it up and input your own! I’m excited to have finally started this album, although it is still a work in progress! I have started asking family members to share stories and photos to add into it! I’m so excited and it is really coming together amazingly! And I love the fact that I will have this great album with my Family History and Information in! Okay enough talking, Laura, show them the album!!!

My Family Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The page on the left is the front of the album! The picture is of our Family Farm! It is the house that my Father grew up in and I made many memories in that house when my Grandparents lived there! My family moved into that house when I was 8 years old and it is still the house that I call HOME! The page on the right is the first page and it is a fabulous picture of my Grandparents!

My Family Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These two pages aren’t complete yet….I’m telling ya this is a major work in progress, bear with me! ๐Ÿ™‚ The page on the left is pictures of major events – Flood of 1993 and Hail Storm of 1989! Both of these events have made an impact in my life and of course I want to be able to share them with the generations to come! The page on the right side is a few pictures of my Grandparents over the years. Of course, you may be thinking what about the other side of my family? I’m working on that too! This album will include both sides of my family! I hope you enjoyed these My Digital Studio creations and I’m hoping that by sharing this, I will be held accountable for keeping up with it and sharing more later too! My Family Reunion!

Posted on

Yesterday was my big family reunion and when I say big I mean BIG!

My Family

This is only a little bit over half of the family! I love having a big family and when we all get together it is a good time. There were about 97 people in total at this family reunion. Every year I take a group picture of each of the “families” (the photo above is all of my Grandpa’s “family” which is his kids and grandkids and great grandkids). Then I take pictures of my Grandpa’s brother’s families as well. I have created a scrapbook with these photos each year and listed the names. I’m not going to lie, some people aren’t labeled because I don’t even know who they are. That is on my to-do list though! ๐Ÿ™‚ This year, I just asked the group after the photo was taken so I could complete the page! It’s so crazy to see how the families have grown and I’m so happy to be able to have these memories. Scrapbooks are such a treasure and a keepsake! I am also working on a “Family Tree” album which consists of family pictures and stories. It has been amazing to get the stories about my family – hearing where they came from and how they lived. It is so amazing and I can’t wait to pass it along to my children (future children….this is not my pregnancy announcement. ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend too!!! Happy Monday and Happy Scrapbookin’!
