My Digital Studio – 2014 Album is Done!!!

Posted on

I’m so excited to say this! I love when I complete another year in my scrapbook because then I know that those memories are documented. Of course, I’m sure I missed some things here and there but I know that looking through the album so many amazing memories coming flooding back. That is what I love about it! Plus I’m an organizational freak so I like knowing it is all in one place, put together and complete! I did my 2014 Album in My Digital Studio just like last year! You can see some more samples here, here and here!

My Digital Studio Family Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Many of my pages are fairly simple with a solid or patterned background paper, lots of pictures which are sometimes layered on a color and sometimes not, some journaling and maybe a few other images. I am all about the pictures (all about the pictures…..anyone else singing that song?) and that is what is most important to me. While I enjoy seeing a page with one large picture and lots of embellishments, that isn’t my style. I can take 200 pictures in one hour of an event and I find it hard enough already to narrow it down to 20 or less for my pages. I love My Digital Studio (MDS) for the journaling. I’m still not a huge fan but I say (type) SO much more in these albums then I ever did in my other albums. I would run out of space or misspell something and get frustrated and I don’t like my hand-writing. With MDS, I have spell check, different fonts, I can backspace and delete and it is so much easier!

Documenting my family history has become very important to me as all of my grandparents are now angels watching over me rather than here telling me stories and giving me hugs! I have a big family and I find it really interesting to see how we are all connected because many times my parents will say, “oh they are related to you” and I never understand the connection. With photos and timelines and stories, I have made some of those connections and I love it! Family is so important to me and I love these pages now and I’m sure I will even more with every year that passes. I added some ribbon and some of the embellishments to these pages!

I have to document Date Night! After all, they say date nights don’t happen very often after children. No we aren’t pregnant yet but we hope to have children in the future! 🙂 I love the Baroque Motifs Stamp Set which is now retired but still available as a Digital Download! Woot Woot! I love how I POPPED my two favorite photos by backing them differently!

My Digital Studio Family Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The most amazing night – Garth Brooks Concert with my family! My parents took us to the Garth Brooks Concert for Christmas this year. It was an amazing concert. It was fun to go with my family. The songs and moment were breathtaking. I used two photos that I took as the background for my pages. I LOVE IT! If you have been to a concert and seen everyone with their phones (or lighters), you know how amazing it looks and here I was able to show that off in my album!

Are you working on documenting your memories?? A Wedding, A Baby, A Vacation, Every Year? What is the hardest part for you – picking a layout, journaling (like me), or just finding the time? Leave me a comment down below!

Would you like to organize your photos and document those memories but don’t have the time, energy, or creativity? I have the perfect solution for you – Project Life! It is super simple because all you have to do is drop the photo in, drop in a decorative card and maybe write a few words! Interested in learning more, leave me a comment down below! I’m working on adding an event to calendar and I want to make sure to invite you!

My Digital Studio – 2014 Scrapbook!!!

Last year I did my scrapbook digitally with My Digital Studio and I after seeing how easy and fun it was, I have decided to do my 2014 Album the same! You can check out my 2013 Album here and here!

2014 MDS Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love love love the Olympics! 631 more days till the 2016 Summer Olympics!!!!! I enjoy all of the sports, the energy, excitement and fun of the entire event! There have been many time I have been brought to tears seeing how proud the Olympians are, how far they have come, hearing the National Anthem! I just love it all! I take notes and enjoy the “phrases” that they use! This year for the 2014 Winter Olympics I took notes of these funnies and amazing moments to document in my scrapbook! I really love how this page turned out and to remember those amazing weeks!

2014 MDS Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com2014 MDS Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These pages document our annual shopping trip for my niece’s birthday! We always have a great time and laugh till our bellies hurt! I always enjoy capturing the fun of the day and my niece growing up! As you can see my pages are fairly simple with some patterned paper as the background! I layered all of the pictures on coordinating colored cardstock and I rounded the corners for a soft look! Also, I journal A LOT more with my digital album because typing is so much easier and if I mess up, I can just hit backspace rather than find a sticker or punched flower (etc) to cover it up! 🙂 Come on….you have all done that, right?

2014 MDS Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Is she not the most precious little girl ever? For this page, I actually grabbed the color of her hair bow and dress to use as the colors for the background and photo layering. That is a super fabulous feature in My Digital Studio when none of the other patterns or solids seem to work! Simple yet focuses on that adorable face which is the most important thing for me! I prefer simple pages with lots and lots of photos! That is just my scrapbooking style! If you prefer one focal photo with some embellishments in the corner or along the bottom, you can do that too! There are so many different options with My Digital Studio! Check out these….

For these pages, I added some “washi tape” to the corners of the photos which adds a fabulous look! I love the simple and playful look it gives. Again you can see I love putting lots of photos on my pages! 🙂 My Digital Studio comes with LOTS of photo layouts that include any where from 1 to 15 photos on a page. You can always download more like these or this baby album here! Don’t worry if you don’t like all of the pages or layouts, you can always create your own or delete out 1 photo from a page or even add a photo! There is so much flexibility to My Digital Studio! You can try out My Digital Studio for 30 Days for Free by clicking here and if you want to purchase the software you can here! There are new downloads every month so be sure to check those out if you are looking for something specific or a certain type of album that you would like to create!

I’ll be sharing more of my 2014 Album soon so be on the lookout!

Elegant & Simple Wedding Invitations

Posted on

Baroque Wedding Invites,wwwLaurasStampPad.com

I love the elegant scroll look of this Wedding Invitation that I created for a Bride. Her colors were Marina Mist and Basic Gray! I then used the Baroque Motifs Stamp Set which retired a few years ago but you can still get the Digital Download – Baroque Motifs! That’s the best thing about Digital Downloads, they never retire! This invitation was created as a 5″ x 7″ and had a matching RSVP card with a little of the stamped image on there as well! I love how these items pair together and look amazing!

Once you have your colors and theme/image picked for your wedding, I can create the perfect Save the Date, Invitation, Program, Place Cards, Thank You Notes, and so much more for your special day! If you would like to get your crafty side out, I can help with the design and supplies and you can create them yourself (or with all of you best girls)!!!! Email me today to get started! I do other celebrations as well! You can check out more samples by clicking here!

My 2013 Scrapbook is DONE!!!!

Posted on

I know I know! Many of you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking how far behind you are on your scrapbooking! Don’t worry and start going Digital! I am not usually done with last year’s album by this time! But I did my 2013 Album in My Digital Studio and it was super fun and simple! There was no hauling out the album and sorting through pictures and making a big mess. I sat on the couch, opened my laptop and turned on one of my favorite shows (DWTS or Friends probably)!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay this page is beyond precious because look at the adorable baby! I used the Sunny Day Designer Series Paper and Embellishments (this was a past Simply Scrappin’ Kit, nothing in My Digital Studio retires).

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is the second page and I used more embellishments for my journaling! Super precious!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

When it comes to my Christmas pages, I always have TONS of photos and no room to write what happened! This year I took a portion of this page to write up a little bit about our big Family Christmas! I used the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin’ Kit for lots of my holidays pages! Love it!!!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love to end my albums with a little re-cap of the year – major events, year recap, and other memories! I remembered, and was able to fit it in, this year! I love it! My 2013 Album was…..drum roll……88 pages long! I know what you are thinking….THAT IS A LOT!!! But the awesome thing about digital is it is still super thin and small. Many other years I had two 12″ x 12″ Albums for one year and they weigh about 5,000 pounds each.

2013 Album My Digital Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This album is compact and less than an inch wide! So much better for putting on the shelf and carrying around to share with other! Another thing that I feel like I should share – it cost about $130 (shipping and tax)! That may seem like a lot if you aren’t a scrapbooker but if you are then you probably think that is a steal! After buying your album, pictures, adhesive, paper, embellishments, paper trimmer, corner rounder punch and so much more….it is a lot more than $130! I think you should try out My Digital Studio and see for yourself! Try it for 30 Day FREE or you can purchase it for $19.95!

I can’t wait to get started on my 2014 Album (which I am already 5 month behind in)! 🙂

My Digital Studio – 2013 Album!!!!

I decided to do my 2013 Scrapbook in My Digital Studio! I found it to be very quick, simple, and fun! By quick, I don’t mean it took me 2 hours (it was much longer than that), BUT I did enjoy sitting on the couch watching my shows and scrapbooking the evening away. At the end of the evening, I closed my laptop and it was all cleaned up! That part was amazing!!! Here are a few pages that I completed!!!! There is so much more you can do with My Digital Studio but I went the simple route with mostly pictures and some journaling (that was my style in traditional scrapbooking as well).

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This page was real simple with some photos of going to a Cardinals Game! I rounded the corners of the pictures which I super love! I get on a kick of rounded corners on all pages! Love it!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This picture is one of my favorites! I mean the beauty of nature is just amazing! This was taken on our family vacation which is so relaxing and fun! I took this photo one evening. I knew I wanted it to be in my scrapbook and really showcase it. I did the photo as the entire page and added in the quote. When my husband saw this, he said,”But you don’t ever do nothing, you always need something to do.” I responded with, “It’s a reminder!” 🙂

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

On vacation, we spend lots of time on the Lake and in the Pool! After all, its summer time and its so much fun!!! As you can see I rounded the corners on these photos too! I just love the soft look!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This page was created for my nephews birthday! Circles are so cute! I added in a “stamped” Happy Birthday all along the bottom of the 2 page spread! None of these pages included a lot of Designer Series Paper or embellishments but they are still super cute and just how I wanted them!

You can check out more pages of my 2013 Scrapbook here and here! Don’t forget that you can try out My Digital Studio for 30 days FREE!!! Click here to get it today! You can always purchase it to have and use forever for just $19.95! Stampin’ Up comes out with new downloads of stamp sets, Designer Series Paper, Kits, and so much more!!! I plan on downloading some new items for my 2014 Scrapbook!!!

More My Digital Studio and my 2013 Scrapbook!!!!

Posted on

So I thought I would share a few more pages of my 2013 Scrapbook that I am creating in My Digital Studio! You can see the pages that I have shared before here and here!!!

MDS Scrapbook, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My Scrapbook pages are more about the pictures than the embellishments partially because I am a camera freak and take millions of photos for even the simplest occasions and partially because that is what is most important to me in my scrapbook! The page above uses one of my favorite features – the corner rounder! I love rounded corners on my pictures. I added in some brads and some journaling and I was done!!!

MDS Scrapbook, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now this page has a few more embellishments but that’s not what I see at first glance! I see my adorable nephew with amazing little blonde curls! Eeee So Precious!?! As you can see I rounded the corners of these photos as well and added some journalling. On this page, I added color to the work Family so it would POP and a few flowers from one of the Simply Scrappin’ Kits!!!

MDS Scrapbook, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay finally a page I didn’t round the corners so you all don’t think I’m crazy 😉 (although I’m pretty sure I am) This page is pretty simple as well with just a few pictures and some journaling! I do have some pages with more embellishments and layers but those aren’t all complete yet! I tend to make my pages and leave room for journaling but move on to the next page. Then I go back and do all of my journaling and final touches later. I sat down one evening and did August – November in one evening while watching TV too! And the best part was at the end of the evening all I had to do was hit save and close my laptop. Digital Scrapbooking is much easier and a lot less messy than traditional scrapbooking! And there are always new downloads available every Tuesday!!!  I hope you enjoyed these pages and keep on the lookout for more because I am hoping to have this album complete soon so I will be sharing more pictures! If you want to try out My Digital Studio (MDS), you can for FREE for 30 days! It is a great chance to check it out before deciding if it is for you! Click here to start your trial!

My Digital Studio – 2013 Album!

So I can officially say that I am “caught up” with my Scrapbook to 2013 (and as I write this this post I’m only 2 months behind)!!! I know I know, many of you are probably years behind on your albums. Don’t hate me! JOIN ME! This year I have decided to do my album digitally with My Digital Studio!!!! Super quick and simple! I scrapbook on random evenings while watching TV on the couch! There is no mess to drag out or put away and I’m multi-tasking. 😉 hehe I’m thinking about starting a My Digital Studio “Class” where we all get together on our laptops and work on My Digital Studio projects (scrapbooks, cards, etc.) This way you have dedicated time set aside to work on your project and if you come across a problem or have a question, I will be there to help! Post in the comments if you are interested in joining a class like this! Okay so here are a few pages from my album!

MDS, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My Scrapbooks are ALL about photos! I love taking pictures and to me a picture says a thousand words! My pages focus 95% on pictures with maybe a few embellishments and a little bit of writing. I do enjoy digital scrapbooking because there is a spell check and a backspace! Come on, you all know you have made a misspelling before or your mind wanders off and you write the wrong word! I enjoy writing more when I can type versus my handwriting!

MDS, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Everyone has a different scrapbook style! You can use my pages as inspiration and you can add many more stamps, embellishments, and layers or you can keep it super simple! With My Digital Studio, you can layer your photos with color or white! You can add ribbons, buttons, banners, brads, etc! There are templates where your entire album has the same theme and colors throughout or you can customize each page to your liking! I will say that not all of my pages have polka dots although the ones I picked to share with you seem to all have them! I hope you are inspired to try out My Digital Studio! My Family Album in My Digital Studio!!

Posted on

Today I am sharing my Family Album that I have been working on for what seems like years. I have been wanting to create a Family Tree Album for awhile now! Then Stampin’ Up came out with a Family History template and I got super excited! This template has nice subtle colors of blues, greens, and yellows! It has a perfect layout for adding in your family information which is great because you just fill in the information that it asks for or you can change it up and input your own! I’m excited to have finally started this album, although it is still a work in progress! I have started asking family members to share stories and photos to add into it! I’m so excited and it is really coming together amazingly! And I love the fact that I will have this great album with my Family History and Information in! Okay enough talking, Laura, show them the album!!!

My Family Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The page on the left is the front of the album! The picture is of our Family Farm! It is the house that my Father grew up in and I made many memories in that house when my Grandparents lived there! My family moved into that house when I was 8 years old and it is still the house that I call HOME! The page on the right is the first page and it is a fabulous picture of my Grandparents!

My Family Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These two pages aren’t complete yet….I’m telling ya this is a major work in progress, bear with me! 🙂 The page on the left is pictures of major events – Flood of 1993 and Hail Storm of 1989! Both of these events have made an impact in my life and of course I want to be able to share them with the generations to come! The page on the right side is a few pictures of my Grandparents over the years. Of course, you may be thinking what about the other side of my family? I’m working on that too! This album will include both sides of my family! I hope you enjoyed these My Digital Studio creations and I’m hoping that by sharing this, I will be held accountable for keeping up with it and sharing more later too! If you would like to try out My Digital Studio for 30 Days for FREE, click here! If you would like help on your album or have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me!
