reindeer-food, www.LaurasStampPad.com I also wanted to share these adorable little things! Remember the September Paper Pumpkin Kit which came with these little test tubes?? I said I was saving those for a special project…..well this wasn’t the one in mind but I love it! I saw these on Pinterest and just had to make some myself. I filled the test tubes with some oats and some Metallic Sequins. Then I created the tags with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). I stamped the reindeer in Early Espresso Ink and added a Red Glimmer Circle to his nose! I used some of the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine to tie it to the test tube! I just think they are adorable!!! Now I still have a few left for yet another project! 😉 What have you done with your test tubes? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Technique Tuesday – Santa’s Reindeer!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! Are you ready for this amazing masterpiece??? I have to say this is probably THE MOST amazing, detailed, stunning card I have ever made in my 12+ years of stamping. Check it out!!!

Double Z Fold Sleigh, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There are just no words for this card. I honestly don’t think I am going to send it out. I’m going to save it and display it every year ever so proudly. I just love it so much!!! Now let’s get started on how to make it with the Santa’s Sleigh Bundle (Save 10%)!!!

I started with a Night of Navy card base measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″ and a strip of Whisper White measuring 11″ x 1″. Both of these are scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ which creates the Z folds! For the panels, I cut Soft Sky cardstock into the following measurements – 4″ x 5-1/4″ and two pieces of 4″ x 2-1/2″. Then I cut Whisper White to layer on top measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ and two pieces of 3-3/4″ x 2-1/4″. Go ahead and layer the white onto the Soft Sky and then onto the card base. You can stamp the greeting in the upper right corner. I used the one from the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set!

Reindeer Sleigh, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now you can add the Whisper White strip to the bottom of the card. I lined it up with the bottom of the white on the panels. Be sure that you are only adding adhesive to the small flap and half of the long flap. I like to fold it all up and then add the adhesive to the spots showing (see video below). Place it on the card and then you can work on all of the decorations. I added the trees first. I stamped 2 blue trees using the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set and die cut them out with the Santa’s Sleigh Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I also cut out a tree in Silver Foil Paper! I added two trees to the large panel and one to the middle small panel. Next up are the reindeer. I stamped all of them in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock. You will need 6 reindeer. I die cut them out. I also die cut the sleigh in Night of Navy, the sleigh overlay in Silver Glimmer Paper, 12 stars in Silver Glimmer Paper (one for each reindeer and a few others to decorate, and a few bows for the presents in Silver Glimmer Paper!

Santa's Reindeer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now to assemble the second Z with the Whisper White strip! All you need to do is take a strip of white scored cardstock and add it to your card opposite folds as the base. Fold it like a Z and the long panel will go across the front (sticking to the left side) and the short panel will adhere to the back right hand side. I used Fast Fuse Adhesive for a strong hold and placed it on the bottom lined up with the bottom of the white panel. I added 2 reindeer to each of the little panels of the white Z fold overlapping them just a little. Be sure that when you add adhesive to the reindeer that you are only adding it on the legs so that adhesive isn’t showing and then glues your card together.

Presents in the Sleigh, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Before placing the last reindeer on, I added the sleigh to the card. I placed the Silver Glimmer overlap onto the navy sleigh with Fine Tip Glue Pen and then added it to the far left of the card. I did trim off a little bit of the sleigh on the bottom rung. Once the sleigh is in place, you can add that final reindeer. Now is also when you will add all of your presents. I stamped the 3 different styles of presents from the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set onto Night of Navy and Soft Sky cardstock and cut them out. They are super easy to cut since they are rectangles! Place as many presents as you wish in the sleigh. Then I added the ribbons and all of the Silver Glimmer stars to the card with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. For the reins, I added some of the glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen to the first reindeer, placed the Whisper White Baker’s Twine down and then added a star. Press and hold for a few seconds and then move to the next one. You could also use a Mini Glue Dot for this part if you wish. Be sure to leave some slack between each reindeer so it doesn’t pull tight when you open the card and so it swags just a bit. I glued the end of the reins under the front of the sleigh at the end. Now you are all set! The most amazing card ever! Yes it is a bit time consuming but it is just so stunning!!! I can’t wait to display mine…..I don’t think I can part with it and send it out.

If you would like to see that all in action, check out my Video Tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to subscribe if you are new!!!

Technique Tuesday – Puzzle Pieced Roses!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! We are back at it with another Technique after last week’s celebration!! This technique uses my favorite Framelits – Rose Garden and some bling!!!! Check this out!

Glimmer Roses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t those roses just stunning? I am still on the fence as to whether this card is a bit much or just fabulous! My husband says its a bit much and only one rose was needed. Let me know in the comments below what you think. Be honest!!!

SUPPLIED NEEDED: Rose Garden Framelits, Big Shot, Snail Adhesive, Paper of Your Choice

I used the Silver Foil Paper and Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper for these roses! I die cut the rose with the Big Shot once in the Silver Foil and once in the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. Then I popped out all of the pieces with the Big Shot Die Brush. Be very gentle with the Glimmer Paper. It could brush off a little glitter and we want all the bling!!! Be sure to keep track of all of the little pieces that you pop out. Then I took a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and placed one of the rose frames in the corner where I wanted it. I took a pen and marked little dotted lines around the INSIDE of the rose frame. This was my guide for adding Snail Adhesive to the area. I took away the rose frame and filled the entire area with adhesive. Then I placed the Glimmer Rose down and started putting together the rose with the Silver Foil pieces inside. It really is like a puzzle!

Blush Rose, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You will repeat the same thing in the opposite corner with the Silver Foil Rose frame and glimmer puzzle pieces. If for some reason you don’t have enough adhesive, you can always add a dab of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I just found it to be much easier and less messy to use the Snail Adhesive for the majority of it, rather than gluing each piece in. Once I had my roses complete, I added some Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the middle and stamped my greeting. The greeting is from the Number of Years Stamp Set and I stamped it in Rose Red (stamp off once). I added this to a Whisper White Card base and Viola!!! Love it!!!

Silver Rose, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I played around with a few other looks as well. Here is a Black Glimmer Paper (ops….retired from the Holiday Mini Catalog) and Real Red Cardstock. You could always do Real Red Foil Paper or all cardstock!! I think this one is amazing!!!

Red Rose, www.LaurasStampPad.com

And then I just had to do a Pink Rose!!!! I used one of the other Framelits in the Rose Garden Set. The border is Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the puzzle pieces are Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz cardstock! I LOVE IT!!!!

Let me know in the comments below which one your favorite is!!! I’m between the Red and Melon Mambo one….they are both amazing!!!

Thank You Wonderful Thing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I loved the You’re So Lovely Project Kit (see here) and coordinating You’re So Lovely Stamp Set so I thought I would see what else I could create with that same set! I love how this card turned out!!! After all it is pink and has some bling on it so who wouldn’t??

I started with a Melon Mambo card base and stamped the stars from the You’re So Lovely Stamp Set in Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo randomly along the edges. Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3″ x 5-1/2″ and stamped randomly on there making sure to leave a spot for the greeting. Then I took the circle wreath image and stamped in multiple times moving it slightly with each stamp. It looks like barbed wire kind of….or a wreath! I stamped the greeting from the same set in Melon Mambo. I love that greeting. I added the stamped piece to the card base and added some Silver Glitter Tape along both sides. The Glitter Tape was a Sale-A-Bration Item so if you have that you can use it. If you don’t, you can always use a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper! That bling really adds the final touch! Love it!

What color combination would you use for this card? Pink like me or perhaps Purple, Blue, Yellow Green??? Ohhh Black and White with that pop of Silver….that would be fabulous!!! Let me know your ideas in the comments below!

Silver Elegance!!!

Silver Elegant Wedding Invitation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This wedding invitation is all about elegance and shine! It is just stunning in person when you can see the beauty of the Silver Foil Paper and Silver Glimmer Paper!

This invitation was very basic to create. I did all of the printing on Smoky Slate Cardstock – Invitation, RSVP, Reception Card and Belly Band. I layered the Invitation, Reception Card and Belly Band onto Silver Foil Paper! For the Belly Band, I cut Silver Glimmer Paper into 1-1/2 strips. I actually cut one strip of 1-1/2″ x 12″ and then rotated 90 degrees and cut the rest of the 1-1/2″ strips. Those strips measure 1-1/2″ x 10-1/2″. This way you are using every little piece of the Glimmer Paper! TIP: the glimmer paper goes together best with a hot glue gun!

Glitter Mess, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Unfortunately I don’t have any tips for containing the glittery mess. I did use the Simply Score Tool to score the belly band and make the folds easier. After I was all finished, I rinsed this off with water to clean it up.

Wedding Invitations, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a small glimpse of my craziness when I am creating wedding invitations. I probably count each piece of the Invitation 10 times before it is all boxed up. I count as I cut, adhere, finish, double check it’s perfect, and final time. There are many times in between each of those steps as well. I love it though. Weddings make me so happy! Share the love!!!

Peacock Perfection!!!

Peacock Wedding Invitation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

As many of you may know, I do wedding stationary as well as my Stampin’ Up business! You can check out some of my work here – Weddings.LaurasStampPad.com. I always forget to share some of my work on here but thought I would today. This is one of my favorites because you all know I love Bermuda Bay! Plus the colors and elegance are just amazing!!!

For this invitation, I created a belly band with Gold Glimmer Paper and added some Whisper White Organza Ribbon over top. I used the Elegant Eggplant Re-Inker to dye the ribbon. When you have white ribbon and re-inkers, you have every color you ever wanted!!! TIP: Hot glue works best for adhering Glimmer Paper together since it is so chunky, most other glues don’t work well. I added the Monogram letter in the middle and punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch which was one of my favorites. It retired last year. 🙁 You could always use your favorite punch – circle, oval, scallop circle, Decorative Label Punch, or even Framelits! For the invitation base, I used Bermuda Bay and Elegant Eggplant. I even embossed the Elegant Eggplant flap with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder to add a little texture! The feather on the inside was printed on a color printer but if you prefer a stamped image, the Perfect Peacock Stamp Set would be perfect!

I really enjoy working with Brides to make their wedding day that much more special. I just love WEDDINGS!!!! Let me know in the comments below if you would like to see more of my wedding stationary posted on here!

Technique Tuesday – Owl Builder Punch Art!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! You know what that means….I have some fabulous techniques to share with you today! Today we are playing with Punch Art! It is so much fun to create lots of different creatures and images from the punches you already have (or need to get after today)! When you can use a punch for more ways that the obvious circle or square, it makes it worth so much more as well! Let’s get started!!!

Tulips Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

We will start with the Tulips! I love tulips and they make me think of Spring…..can we just skip Winter this year? These tulips can be created in any color! I used Wisteria Wonder to punch out 3 owl bodies from the Owl Builder Punch. I snipped off the feet of the owl and brushed the edges with Elegant Eggplant and a Sponge Dauber. I like how this gives texture and dimension to the tulip. For the stems and leaves, I used Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I cut long strips for the stems. They don’t have to be rectangle or perfect because flower stems never are so make it a long triangle or a short rectangle or a not perfectly straight stem! It all works! The leaves were punched out with the Bird Builder Punch for the final touch! You can create bouquets or just a few along the bottom of your project or just one elegant tulip! I love these!

Pear Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little pear is super easy to create with the Owl Builder Punch! Just punch out an owl body with some Pear Pizzazz cardstock and cut off the feet and ears, slopping to the center to give that rounded off look. Then with a little piece of scrap Pear Pizzazz or brown of your choice, cut a little piece for the stem. I brushed the edges of the pear with a Chocolate Chip Sponge Dauber to give texture and make it look rounded! Simple and fabulous!

Kitty Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little kitty is just adorable and would look super fabulous looking out the window using the Hearth and Home Thinlet Dies! For the kitty, I punched out an owl body in Basic Black with the Owl Builder Punch. Then I punched just a sliver of the body from the side to create that little curved tail. I adhered the owl body to a piece of Bohemian Designer Series Paper with the tail off to the left and then trimmed the bottom off. I like using the Designer Series Paper as a guide to cut straight! There is your kitty silhouette! I did take a Basic Black Marker to create a few whiskers. You could create a face and have the kitty looking at you if you wished! Mine is looking out the window!

Guitar Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The guitar is perfect for any rockstar!!!! You could use Silver, Gold, Red, or Dazzling Diamonds for your guitar. You can even spritz the Dazzling Diamonds with some re-inker and get any color! ROCK ON!!!! I punched an owl out in the Gold Glimmer Paper and cut off the feet. You will also need the Owl Builder Punch for 1 eye (smaller circle above the body) and 2 hearts. Placing the 2 hearts point to point, place a Mini Glue Dot on the end of some Basic Black measuring 3/4″ wide and however long you wish and stick it on the hearts. This creates your guitar end. The little eye will be added to the center of the glimmer paper with a Mini Glue Dot. This is the whole in the guitar. Now adhere the other end of the long black piece to the guitar body. You are all set! You could always take a Signo White Gel Pen and create strings! Love it!!!

If you would like to see all of these in action, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give the video a Thumbs Up if you liked it! Let me know in the comments below which Punch Art items you would like to see next month! You can see last month’s Punch Art here!

You Light Up My Life!!!

Posted on

one tag fits all, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card LIGHTS UP MY LIFE! I love the bright colors! I love the bling with Glimmer Paper and Rhinestones! I love the greeting! This is sure to brighten anyone’s day! I started with a card base of Coastal Cabana and layered a piece of Strawberry Slush measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″! I used my Top Note Die and Big Shot to cut out the Whisper White piece. Using the lights from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set, I inked JUST the lights in Memento Ink and stamped them in the corners. The easiest way to do this is to turn over your stamp and ink it up with the ink pad. You can see where you are inking better. TIP: Then to be safe, place a post-it note or scrap piece of paper over the words before stamping. I do this just in case it is still a little dirty because I don’t want that light image coming through on my project and if some ink got on there while inking up the lights! Come on, I’m not the only one that has made this mistake, am I? Well it won’t happen to all of you because of the tip I gave you! 🙂 I colored in the lights with my Blendabilities – Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, and Melon Mambo! I added a Rhinestone to one of the lights! Now for the tag and greeting! I stamped the greeting in Memento onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch! I layered this onto a piece of Strawberry Slush punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch! I stamped the Tag image from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and colored it with my Blendabilities – Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, and Melon Mambo! I fussy cut the tag because I wanted the full image and if you use the Note Tag Punch, it is slightly smaller! I attached the tag to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a small strip of Silver Glimmer Paper…use up those scraps! 🙂 Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the oval greeting as well! LOVE IT!!! You can see this card and others using this stamp set in my Video Tutorial here!

What color combination brightens your day? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Glimmer & Glitz Stars

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means that I have a fabulous technique to share with you and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! Lots of bling and you can pick whatever color you want!!!!

Glimmer Vellum Stars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love love love Silver and BLING….add in a pop of color and it screams my name!!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver Glimmer Paper, Cardstock, Sponge Dauber, Star Framelits, Big Shot, Stamps & Ink

Start off with a card base of 4-1/4″ x 11″ in Whisper White and adhere a piece of Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum on top measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Vellum can be tricky to adhere because you can see where the adhesive is since it is partially clear. With this card, you don’t have to worry about your adhesive because it is covered by the Whisper White decorative piece. Then using a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″, you will place the third largest star from the Star Framelits on the bottom half and run it through your Big Shot! Now using your Sponge Daubers, brush the edges of the white rectangle and the punched out star! You can use the star on the inside of your card or for a completely different project! Stamp your greeting to the top of the white rectangle and then add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the corners of your white rectangle. You can add maybe 1 or 2 in the middle if you like them a lot like me! Place that on your card front. Now using the 2nd smallest Star Framelit, cut out a star in Silver Glimmer Paper! You will adhere this star in the center of your cut out star on your card front. Adhere with Snail Adhesive! You can place your cut out white star on the inside of your card! For the card above, I used Blackberry Bliss and the Endless Wishes Stamp Set!

Red Stars Vellum Glimmer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I used Real Red and the Endless Wishes Stamp Set. I added the star to the inside on the top for some extra flare!

Birthday, Stars, Vellum, Glimmer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I used Pacific Point and the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set! Also, I added in a little Silver Foil Star from the center of the wreath from last week’s post! To see this all in action, check out the Video Tutorial below! Be sure to give it a Thumbs Up if you liked it!!!!

I would like to thank Dawn Griffith for this great idea. She did her’s in all Silver which I loved but I added my flare with the color!!!! Let me know in the comments below which color your favorite was or which color you would like to use for a POP of color!

You all know I love black and white with a POP of color! Well check out this most recent card!!!!

You & Me, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Eeeeee! It is so fabulous I just wanna scream! Of course the colors are Basic Black, Whisper White and Melon Mambo! If you are a fan of Black and White, the Back to Black Designer Series Paper must be in your collection! I am loving this paper. AND if you want color sometimes, color the paper with your Markers, Blendabilities, or Sponge Dauber!!! Oh yeah, that works amazing! For the greeting, I used the You & Me from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set, punched it out with my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Scallop Circle Punch! Once I had it all assembled, I thought what would make this card even better and BLING came to mind! So I took my Itty Bitty Punch Pack heart punch and some glimmer paper and viola! Amazing card!

You & Me, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a little close up of the details! This card would be perfect as a Thank You card to a friend who you had lunch with or visited recently. It could be for an Anniversary, Wedding, or Just Because card to the one you love! I hope you try out some Black and White with a pop of color! What is your favorite color to pop with?
