Country Trees – Creative Blog Hop

Today I’m taking part in a Creative Blog Hop with other fabulous Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! I was nominated by Meg Loven who is the amazing person who introduced me to Stampin’ Up over 10 years ago! Now lets get to the projects I can’t wait to share with you today!

Rustic Festival of Trees, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the rustic look of this card and since I grew up out in the country it makes me feel right at home! I started with a card base of Whisper White and then layered some Cherry Cobbler (4″ x 5-1/4″). For the wooden look, I took a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped the Hardwood Stamp on top using Chocolate Chip! I love this stamp for backgrounds and so much more. Then I pulled out my Festival of Trees Stamp Set and coordinating Tree Punch (Bundle & Save). I stamped the trees in Garden Green and added some garland in Cherry Cobbler and then punched them out. Of course I added those to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals because what is a card without them! 🙂 For the greeting, I used the Seasons Greetings from Watercolor Winter Too but you could use your favorite greeting for an array of different stamp sets. I stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and brushed the edges with my Garden Green Sponge Dauber and attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! Love it!!!

With this blog hop I have been asked to answer four questions about my creativity so here you go!

1.  What are you working on?

Right now I am working on my Christmas Cards. I like to have them done and ready to be mailed by the first week of December! Also, I am working with a few Brides on their wedding invitations!

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?

I love bright colors, especially MELON MAMBO and bling (Rhinestones, Pearls, & Dazzling Details)! Also, all of my project use Stampin’ Dimensionals on at least 1 layer (usually more)!

3.  Why do you create what you do?

Most of the projects that I create I use for Classes, Stamp Parties, Clubs and other Stamp Events but every once in awhile I create just to play! In the end, I love those projects so much I end up using them at the next event! 🙂 I love sharing a card, treat, gift, or memory with others…..the smile on their face means the world to me!

4.  How does your creative process work?

I flip through the catalog and find items that I love and then I start playing with them. After I have done a few samples, I go to Pinterest and look for other “out of the box” ways to use the stamp set too! Sometimes, while out there looking through Pinterest, I find lots of samples with a stamp set or embellishment and then I have to get it and re-create them!

Wasn’t that fun!? Now I will nominate 2 fellow stampers so you can see their amazing work next Monday, December 1st!

Kim Peck – Kim is an amazing stamper who inspires me every day. She has moved to California and I’m jealous of her weather. I always enjoy seeing her during her visits to IL!

Julie Davison – Julie is a rock star! She makes amazing projects and inspires me to think outside the box. I always enjoy spending time with her at our Demonstrator events and her Make-And-Takes are the best!!!

Happy Stampin’
